Senior Python Developer / DevOps Engineer - Critical Cloud Platform

Societe Generale is accelerating the digitalization of its IT by investing in a private cloud that provides secure, scalable services to thousands of developers across the Group. As part of this strategy, we centralized the hosting of cloud services (XaaS) APIs within a dedicated platform called CCP.

CCP standardizes the deployment and hosting of cloud service APIs through strong automation, clean Python backend services, and a scalable infrastructure. It is a critical, alwayson platform (24/7 monitoring) that supports more than 70 key applications.

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer / DevOps Engineer who thrives in an environment where operational reliability meets highquality backend engineering.

Team Context

You will join a 7member Scrum team distributed between Paris and Bangalore.
The team works closely together on a shared mission: delivering a secure, reliable, and scalable platform used by internal developers across the Group.

Your Responsibilities

Core Engineering Responsibilities

• Design and implement features requested by users or required to meet architectural challenges
• Develop clean, maintainable, productiongrade Python code for CCP APIs (onboarding, deployment, automation...)
• Ensure all new features contribute to a seamless user experience and meet high reliability standards
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture choices within the team

Platform Reliability & Observability

• Continuously improve the platform's observability (metrics, logs, traces)
• Guarantee the reliability and performance targets defined by the cloud platform
• Contribute to incident analysis and root-cause investigations

Operational Excellence

• Support users (L2/L3) and enhance RUN processes to improve efficiency and reliability
• Automate recurring operations wherever possible
• Ensure deployments and operations follow industrialgrade DevOps practices

Engineering Culture

• Promote best practices in Python backend development across the team
• Challenge existing processes and propose improvements that enhance code quality, maintainability, and platform resilience

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a Senior Developer with 3 years of proven experience in backend development and in running critical systems in production.

Required Technical Skills

• Python backend engineering (Flask, Celery) - strong software engineering skills, not just scripting
• Solid understanding of clean architecture, maintainability, and productionready API development
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions
• Kubernetes: deployments, scaling, troubleshooting
• Linux system expertise
• Strong experience with observability in production contexts:
  Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Fluentd
• Experience with:
  PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, S3, Hashicorp Vault, Kafka, Elastic Stack
