Key Responsibilities:

1. Page Layout & Graphic Design

Book Layouts: Design structured, age-appropriate page layouts, covers, and chapter

openers using advanced master pages and style sheets.

Visual Hierarchy: Create clear typographic hierarchies to break up dense text,

making lessons intuitive for young learners.

Art Direction: Brief and manage freelance illustrators and photo researchers to

ensure visuals align with educational goals.

Asset Prep: Render clean charts, maps, and vector graphics from raw editorial data.

commercial print (precise grids, bleeds, and CMYK color).

Quality Control: Review printer proofs, digital bluelines, and color matches to

ensure high-quality output.

Vendor Coordination: Interface with print vendors regarding technical

specifications, paper stocks, and binding types.

3. Collaboration & Workflow

Editorial Alignment: Partner with curriculum editors to map text perfectly to design

layouts and learning objectives.

Timeline Management: Manage multiple design deadlines across grade levels to

Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Experience: 3+ years of book design experience, ideally in educational publishing or

and color management.

Education Lens: Familiarity with K-12 developmental aesthetics and layout
