Job Description
As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: Designing simple and complex roadway bridges, including grade separations, stream crossings, and bridge rehabilitations. Designing transportation-related structures including culverts and retaining walls. Working closely with drafting team in the preparation of structural plans development. Prepare structural analysis and design reports. Perform bridge load ratings. Perform independent review of structural analysis and design of various transportation structures. Knowledge and skill exchange with the team.
Skills & Abilities
Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. Ability to arrange/layout structural systems and elements for strength, stability, constructability, and construction economy. Expert knowledge of engineering analysis/design software (e.g. Revit, STAAD, RISA).
Qualifications
EducationPost Graduation in Structural EngineeringGood communication skills. Fluent in English15+ Years of experience in the Analysis and design of Bridges, Grade separators, flyovers, underpasses, interchanges, Pedestrian bridges, skywalks etc.Thorough knowledge of AASHTO, British and Euro standardsDesign of Reinforced Concrete Bridges, Structural steel bridges, and pre-stressed concrete bridgesDesign of bearings, design of expansion joints, and other bridge related miscellaneous structures Worked on projects in the Middle East and USHands-on with AASHTO LRFD bridge design methodsConversant with seismic design of bridge structuresConversant with structural steel member and connection (welds/bolts) designShoring Design, Assessment of Bridge Rating, Design of light poles and signage gantries.Software Exposure - Good knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Modeling & Analytical Skills.Specific - Staad Pro, Midas Civil, CSI Bridges, SAP and ETABS.
Preferred Qualifications
Worked on projects with Ashghal, RTA etc. and familiar with respective delivery requirementsProficiency in developing macros/programming and creating routines using MathcadCertifications like PE, CEng etc.Experience with OpenBridge, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
