API Testing + Selenium Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for API and Web UI testing.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver.
• Validate RESTful and SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
• Execute API and UI automation as part of CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform backend validation using SQL queries and database testing.
• Analyze test results, report defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain automation scripts, test data, and test documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in API Testing and Selenium Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and automation frameworks (TestNG/JUnit/Cucumber).
• Expertise in REST API and SOAP API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
• Proficiency in Java for automation scripting.
• Experience with SQL for database validation.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API authentication mechanisms.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of performance testing using JMeter.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and Microservices architecture.
• ISTQB Certification is an added advantage.
