Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and enhance microservices-based applications following best coding practices.
- Integrate APIs with databases, third-party applications, and enterprise systems.
- Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and other authentication/authorization mechanisms.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code with comprehensive unit tests.
- Optimize API performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve production defects.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and design principles.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
- Support CI/CD implementation and application deployments.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Java API Development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
- Expertise in developing RESTful APIs and Microservices.
- Strong understanding of JSON, XML, REST, and API design best practices.
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and Jenkins.
- Knowledge of API testing using Postman or Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and design patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployment.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB is an added advantage.
