Performance Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests using Apache JMeter.
• Analyze application performance, identify bottlenecks, and provide optimization recommendations.
• Develop reusable performance test scripts for web applications, APIs, and microservices.
• Monitor system resources (CPU, memory, network, database) during performance testing.
• Prepare performance test plans, test scenarios, workload models, and test reports.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate application performance against SLAs and business requirements.
• Support production performance analysis and capacity planning.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Performance Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter (Mandatory).
• Experience in Load Testing, Stress Testing, Endurance Testing, and Spike Testing.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, Web Services, and Microservices.
• Experience in performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.
• Knowledge of SQL for database performance validation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Basic scripting knowledge using Java, Groovy, or JavaScript for JMeter scripting and customization.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and reporting skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• ISTQB or performance testing certifications are an added advantage.
