About The Job:

  • The Legal Tech Project Manager will lead and support the design, implementation, and scaling of digital legal solutions within the ZEISS Group, focusing on reporting, process automation, workflow digitization, and data-driven decision-making.
  • The role bridges Legal, IT, Compliance, and Business teams globally, ensuring successful delivery of strategic legal tech initiatives such as a Global Legal Platform, AI for contract review, AI-based Legal Services, Legal Spend Management, Compliance Chatbot.
  • Streamlining existing processes such as User Management, Contract Generator or Matter Management will also be a key part of the role.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Project Management & Delivery
    • Drive end-to-end delivery of assigned legal tech projects — from scoping, requirement gathering, and design to build, pilot, rollout, and optimization.
    • Create and maintain project roadmaps, governance models, and documentation (BRD, user journeys, SOPs).
    • Manage timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment across Legal, IT, Finance, and Compliance teams.
    • Track KPIs and ensure on-time delivery and post-launch performance metrics.
  • Solution Design & Process Digitization
    • Map existing legal and compliance workflows (e.g. contract lifecycle, outside counsel engagement).
    • Translate legal process requirements into technical specifications for workflow automation and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, MS Teams integration, SharePoint, SAP).
    • Design future, optimized processes along considerations of UX, technical requirements and budget.
    • Collaborate with IT on system integrations, user access controls, and data governance.
  • Data Analytics & Insights
    • Define and structure datasets for legal spend, law firm performance, matter tracking and user management.
    • Develop and manage dashboards (Power BI, GenAI-based insights) for cost transparency and decision support.
    • Use analytics to identify trends, efficiency gaps, and opportunities for automation.
  • Change Management & Training
    • Lead awareness and adoption programs for new digital tools (e.g., Law Firm Platform, Agentic AI as Legal self-service, Global Legal Platform).
    • Monitor adoption rates, collect user feedback, and drive continuous improvement cycles.
  • Governance & Compliance Alignment
    • Ensure digital tools comply with internal governance frameworks, data protection, and CSOP requirements.
    • Establish and maintain governance documentation, update ownership, and audit readiness for each platform.
    • Liaise with Compliance and Data Privacy teams to manage risk and ensure adherence to ZEISS standards.

Key Projects in Scope

  • Corporate Compliance Chatbot: Deployment and maintenance of a bilingual chatbot for 24/7 compliance support integrated into ZEISS’ intranet.
  • Corporate Legal Global Legal Platform: Centralized platform for reporting disputes, legal approvals, knowledge sharing and automated legal communications (MS SharePoint based).
  • Outside Counsel Use Dashboard: Development of analytics platform for tracking external counsel spend and experience ratings using Power Platform.
  • Agentic AI Legal Service: Help develop the access to automated Legal Services such as NDA review through agentic AI.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Project Management)Business; Law qualification is not a must.
  • 6–10 years of total experience, preferably with past experiences in Legal Operations, Legal Tech, or Digital Transformation roles.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional tech projects (workflow automation, analytics dashboards, chatbot, or CLM systems).
  • ZEISS relies heavily on Microsoft’s Environment, therefore being comfortable with standard MS Office programs is a must (especially Excel). The role also requires knowledge of, and experience with, more advanced tools such as Power Automate, Power App, Power BI and SharePoint.
  • Understanding data privacy, compliance workflows, and corporate governance frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a process-driven mindset.
  • Strong foundations in data analysis and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams.
  • Project management certification (PMP / Agile / Prince2) is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with cross-cultural, multidisciplinary teams and tight timelines.
  • Passion for leveraging technology to optimize processes.
