BASIC FUNCTION (JOB SUMMARY)
HKM Charitable Foundation is a large-scale social impact organization engaged in various feeding
and welfare initiatives across Telangana and beyond. These include breakfast schemes in schools
for underprivileged children and multiple charitable community feeding programs. The
Foundation also operates high-capacity centralized kitchens that serve lakhs of meals every day.
The Director Operations will lead end-to-end operations of all feeding programs of the
Foundation. A major focus area will be the breakfast scheme for underprivileged children across
Telangana. The role involves overseeing 25+ centralized kitchens, ensuring quality, food safety,
timely production, government coordination, and strong team leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Centralized Kitchen Operations (Primary Responsibility)
- Oversee day-to-day functioning of 25+ high-capacity centralized kitchens.
- Implement and monitor SOPs for production, hygiene, food safety, and FSSAI compliance.
- Ensure timely production and dispatch of breakfast meals to thousands of schools.
- Maintain consistency, quality, and punctual delivery of lakhs of meals daily.
B. Breakfast Scheme Key Focus
- Lead statewide operations for the breakfast program in government schools for underprivileged
children.
- Coordinate with Education Department, District Collectors, DEOs, MEOs, and school
authorities.
- Ensure smooth delivery, grievance redressal, audits, and reporting.
C. Government Relations & Program Coordination
- Facilitate coordination with relevant government departments.
- Manage inspections, audits, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Represent HKMCF in official meetings and reviews.
D. Human Resources & Leadership
- Lead Directors of Operations, Supervisors, Kitchen Managers, and field teams.
- Build strong second-line leadership across zones.
- Oversee training, discipline, and workforce management.
E. Procurement & Supply Chain
- Oversee procurement of raw materials such as grains, vegetables, dairy, and packaging.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply chain, vendor management, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor inventory, logistics, and monthly stock planning.
F. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to hygiene, food safety, FSSAI, HACCP/ISO standards.
- Conduct periodic internal audits and safety inspections.
G. Financial Oversight
- Work closely with CFO on costing, consumption analysis, budgeting, and variance control.
- Monitor per-meal cost, Client expenses, and operational overheads.
H. Strategic Growth & Expansion
- Lead establishment of new centralized kitchens.
- Introduce automation, modern equipment, and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills Required :
Bachelor's or a Master's degree.
Minimum 15 years work experience required (preferably in large-scale food industry /
centralized kitchen operations)
Flexibility to travel across sites.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Strong operational leadership.
Experience in large-scale food production or similar high-volume operations.
Ability to manage multiple facilities and large teams.
Strong communication and government liaison abilities.
Data-driven approach and analytical mindset.
