We are seeking an experienced Managing Editor - Mathematics to lead the editorial development and publishing of K-12 Mathematics textbooks, workbooks, teacher resources, and digital learning content. The role demands strong academic expertise, editorial excellence, project management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality educational products aligned with national and international curricula.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Editorial Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end editorial lifecycle from manuscript planning to final print and digital publication.
  • Develop annual publishing plans in line with organizational goals.
  • Establish and maintain editorial standards, style guides, and quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure consistency across all Mathematics titles.

Content Development

  • Review and edit Mathematics manuscripts for:
    • Conceptual accuracy
    • Pedagogical effectiveness
    • Curriculum alignment
    • Grade-level appropriateness
    • Language clarity
  • Ensure content aligns with CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, Cambridge, IB, or other assigned curricula, depending on the publishing portfolio.
  • Guide the development of assessments, activities, illustrations, worked examples, and teacher support materials.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple publishing projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare production schedules and monitor project milestones.
  • Ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Identify risks and resolve project bottlenecks proactively.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate Editors, Assistant Editors, SMEs, Proofreaders, and Freelance Authors.
  • Allocate work and monitor productivity.
  • Conduct editorial training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Build a high-performance editorial team.


Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Mathematics (preferred).
  • B.Ed. or M.Ed. is an added advantage.
  • Certification or training in educational publishing is desirable.

Required Experience

  • 8-15 years in educational publishing.
  • Strong experience managing K-12 Mathematics publications.
  • Proven leadership of editorial teams.
  • Experience handling both print and digital educational products.
  • Familiarity with curriculum revisions and textbook development processes.
