Essential Job Functions:
- Provides end-to-end ownership of storage infrastructure design, planning, configuration, deployment, documentation, and top-level support.
- Identifies storage design requirements and recommends capacity planning, performance optimization, and future-state architecture.
- Designs storage solutions aligned with business and application requirements.
- Performs storage workload modeling for sizing, optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
- Researches and evaluates storage systems, operating system features, and vendor solutions for application-specific sizing.
- Demonstrates expertise in storage virtualization, data rationalization, workload automation, storage provisioning, disaster recovery, and SAN fabric management.
- Troubleshoots storage reliability, availability, capacity, and performance issues.
- Collaborates with application, infrastructure, and system administration teams to implement storage architecture recommendations.
- Performs preventive maintenance, performance tuning, and bottleneck analysis across storage environments.
- Recommends hardware, software, and configuration improvements to enhance system performance.
- Participates in the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including research, design, development, testing, security, maintenance, re-engineering, and enhancements.
- Develops and maintains software products using Agile, Waterfall, or other software development methodologies.
- Gathers business requirements and contributes to product definition, roadmap planning, and feature prioritization.
- Participates in customer usability studies and competitive feature analysis.
- Leads testing, validation, debugging, and issue resolution for new and enhanced products.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation for software products and storage solutions.
- Assists in developing and reviewing technical and end-user documentation.
- Drives innovation by proposing new product ideas and enhancements for existing solutions.
- Protects intellectual property through collaboration with legal, procurement, patent, and open-source compliance teams.
- Ensures product delivery within budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Tracks project progress and communicates development schedules, milestones, and status to stakeholders.
- Modifies system software to resolve defects and implement new functionality.
- Designs and develops major functional enhancements, performance improvements, and new software tools.
- Reviews requirements, technical specifications, and designs to ensure product quality.
- Develops and implements comprehensive testing strategies for software and storage products.
- Contributes to the design and architecture of new or re-engineered software and storage environments.
- Prepares detailed software and storage specifications from architectural diagrams and design documents.
- Develops, reviews, and maintains functional, technical, and user documentation.
- Designs, develops, tests, and integrates complex software components.
- Provides maintenance and production support for existing software and storage environments.
- Mentors and provides technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Designs and implements source code version control and configuration management processes.
