Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in building scalable, high-performance microservices and event-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Apache Kafka, and distributed systems. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical applications while ensuring reliability, resilience, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Build event-driven workflows using Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Implement robust error handling and recovery mechanisms aligned with application standards.
• Handle distributed failures, partial success scenarios, and downstream system integrations.
• Ensure message idempotency, retry strategies, and dead-letter queue implementation.
• Integrate with external systems and third-party services through secure APIs.
• Implement logging, monitoring, tracing, and transaction tracking mechanisms.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Operations teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain technical design documents and system documentation.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
• Expertise in RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with event-driven and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging technologies.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and failure handling mechanisms.
• Experience implementing idempotency, retry logic, and dead-letter queues.
• Good knowledge of HTTP status codes, API error handling, and API security.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0 and API Key-based authentication.
• Strong SQL and database interaction skills.
• Proficiency in logging, tracing, debugging, and performance tuning.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience in Airline or Travel domain projects.
• Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Understanding of API Gateway concepts, throttling, and rate limiting.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of distributed transaction management and Saga patterns.
• Experience monitoring Kafka consumer lag and messaging platform performance
