Software Engineer

Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing support and enhancement services for enterprise web and mobile software solutions at Company. Responsibilities include application maintenance, issue analysis and resolution, enhancement development, incident and risk management, stakeholder communication, and status reporting. You will act as a module lead, taking ownership of support activities, minor feature enhancements, system stability, and continuous improvements for assigned components and feature sets. You will collaborate with cross-functional product and support teams to ensure smooth operations, timely issue resolution, and adherence to best practices and processes for reliable product delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Incident & Production Support & Root Cause Analysis
  • Monitor application health, alerts, and dashboards. Look into Datadog and Full story alerts for any issues.
  • Perform initial triage for application, API, cloud, and network issues.
  • Handle Sev2/Sev3 (P1/ P2) incidents within SLA timelines.
  • Analyze logs using tools like Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.
  • Restart services/pods and execute standard recovery procedures.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis for complex production issues.
  • Debug Java microservices, React applications, and distributed transactions.
  • Conduct RCA and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
  • Analyze thread dumps, heap dumps, performance bottlenecks, and API latency.
  • Application Support
  • Support React UI and Java microservices functionality issues. Support full stack-Backend (Java- spring boot etc.) UI (React, Angular etc.)
  • Validate API responses, authentication, and integration failures.
  • Troubleshoot deployment/configuration issues in lower and production environments.
  • Provide code-level fixes and hotfix deployments.
  • Operational Activities
  • Manage routine service requests and change activities.
  • Coordinate with Eng/Infra/Cloud/DB teams for dependency issues.
  • Document recurring issues, SOPs, and known errors.
  • Communication & Governance
  • Provide regular incident updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain ticket hygiene in ServiceNow/Rally.
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to Eng team leads.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend support rotations when needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's/Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science, Instrumentation, or equivalent.
  • 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in software design and development in Java/J2EE, React & Microservices.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in support and enhancement projects for the last 3 years with familiarity with ITIL practices.
  • Experienced in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful Webservices & microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experienced in Front End Technology such as React.js or similar.
  • Experienced in dealing with SCA tools like Checkmarx, Coverity, etc., and can fix security vulnerabilities.
  • Containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes experience is needed.
  • Working experience on SQL DB (Postgres, MySQL, etc.) and No SQL (OpenSearch, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience on Cloud platform – AWS.
  • Experience with software version management (Git/Gitlab)
  • Experience with Rally and xWiki

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working as part of teams following Agile Scrum methodology
  • ITSM Tools Proficiency (like ServiceNow) is good to have
  • Experience on tech migration from one technology to another as part of tech stack upgrades.
  • Experienced in developing, deploying, and managing microservices on cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Manage the branching strategy for the product on GitLab and work with DevOps to improve productivity.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and results orientation with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Cross-Platform Experience: Ability to develop for Android, iOS, and Windows mobile platforms
  • App Store Knowledge: Experience with submission and compliance requirements for Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Microsoft Store
  • Native Development: Understanding of platform-specific capabilities and limitations
  • Security: Understanding mobile application security best practices
