Our Story

Building a new company in the recession of 2007 was no ordinary task. Yet with passion and foresight, we charted our course, helping to transform the way consumers engage with their phones. Over the last 17 years, InMobi has built a global Advertising Platform that powers our customers' growth by helping them engage their audiences and drive real connections.

InMobi has also built a second unicorn, Glance, which is advancing digital consumption and creating a new wave of disruption. Present on 400M devices across India, SEA, Japan and the US - Glance is one of the largest content platforms globally with~200M daily active users.

Who are we and What do we do?

We help advertisers reach and engage with their target audience globally. We do this through a deep understanding of people, which is enabled through our algorithms that respect privacy. Today, some of the world's largest brands, agencies, developers and publishers are creating great value by using our platforms to deliver compelling proposition to their target consumers.
Currently, we provide over 1.4 billion mobile users with relevant advertisements that enable meaningful decisions. We display 10 billion advertisements on a daily basis!

About the role

We're hiring a Tech Lead / SDE IV to anchor and grow our Data Engineering capability within our Demand-Side Platform (DSP). This is a high-impact, technically hands-on leadership role at the intersection of real-time data infrastructure, programmatic advertising, and scalable backend systems.

You'll own the design and delivery of pipelines that power bidding intelligence, audience targeting, campaign analytics, and attribution - processing billions of bid-stream events daily. Alongside your data engineering mandate, you'll architect and contribute to backend microservices at the core of our DSP stack, including integrations with SSPs, ad exchanges, and identity resolution platforms.

You'll mentor a team of engineers, drive technical direction, and collaborate closely with product, ML, and growth functions to turn data into a true competitive advantage.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end data pipelines - batch and real-time - for bid requests, win/loss events, impression logs, click streams, and conversion signals at scale.
  • Build and maintain our data lakehouse (ingestion storage serving) for low-latency DSP analytics and ML feature generation.
  • Own our StarRocks deployment for real-time analytical queries; drive FinOps discipline and data governance (metadata, PII, GDPR/CCPA).
  • Architect DSP backend microservices - bid shading, pacing, budget management, reporting APIs - and the data contracts between them.
  • Set standards for API design, service reliability, and observability; ensure low-latency data reads (Aerospike, Cassandra) for the bidding path.
  • Lead architecture reviews, mentor SDE II/III engineers, and own the technical roadmap for data infrastructure.
  • Partner with ML engineers across the feature engineering, training, and model-serving lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in data engineering or large-scale data systems; ad-tech, programmatic, or RTB experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in distributed stream processing (Kafka, Flink, or Spark Structured Streaming) and strong SQL at petabyte scale.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time analytical databases (StarRocks, Snowflake, or ClickHouse), orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster), and open table formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi).
  • Proficiency in Python (primary) and/or Java/Scala, REST/gRPC microservices, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of the RTB ecosystem (OpenRTB, SSPs, ad exchanges), identity resolution (UID2/RampID), and privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical squads, with strong communication skills and a track record of shipping from ambiguous requirements to production.
