Network Security Operations - Associate

The Network Security Operations - Associate is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of network security solutions that protect organizational infrastructure from cyber threats. This entry-level role focuses on assisting senior engineers in deploying and managing security technologies, monitoring network activity, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Experience (Preferred):

• 1-2 year of relevant experience in network security or IT infrastructure is desired

Certifications (Preferred):

• CompTIA Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar entry-level certifications

Graduate

• Assist in configuring and maintaining firewalls, proxies, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security appliances.
• Support network monitoring and analysis to detect anomalies and potential threats.
• Help investigate and resolve security incidents under guidance from senior engineers.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of network connectivity and security issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network security configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in audits and ensure adherence to organizational security standards.
• Collaborate with IT teams to identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Stay updated on emerging security technologies and best practices

Needed Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and OSI model.
• Strong foundation in network basics for tracing and analyzing traffic flows (e.g., packet capture, routing paths.
• Familiarity with network security tools (firewalls, proxies, VPN).
• Solid knowledge of firewall policies and Access Control Lists (ACLs) for securing network traffic.
• Ability to script or automate tasks using Python, Shell, or similar languages is a plus.
