Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient R&D Process Scale-Up Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. This role requires a candidate with hands-on expertise in scaling up laboratory processes to industrial production, technical problem-solving capabilities, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Requirements
3+ years of hands-on experience in agrochemical or fine chemical manufacturing environments
B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
Strong exposure to contract or job work manufacturing setups
Good understanding of GPCB/PCB compliance, ETP operations, and reactor-based synthesis processes
Familiarity with pilot plant operations and technology transfer processes
Ability to prepare and manage plant operation reports, CAPA documentation, and site assessment reports
Skills and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Process Scale-Up
Oversee the complete R&D process from laboratory scale to commercial production.
Collaborate with the R&D team on process optimization, modifications, and pilot-scale trials.
2. Technical Process Development
Design and interpret process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, and equipment mapping.
Assist in translating laboratory processes into commercial-scale operations with precision and efficiency.
3. Plant-Scale Integration
Lead the scale-up process, from commercial pilot to plant-scale implementation, ensuring technical feasibility and process reliability.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize plant processes and troubleshoot potential challenges.
4. Job Work Site Management
Act as the primary liaison with contract manufacturing partners, managing day-to-day operations and resolving on-ground challenges
Oversee raw material receipt, in-process quality checks, and finished goods dispatch
Serve as Atomgrid's on-ground representative, ensuring process integrity and confidentiality
Track competitor activity, including manufacturing trends, capacity utilisation, and new developments across key regions
5. Plant Operations & Manufacturing Oversight
Oversee day-to-day plant operations and supervise all plant and project activities across sites on a daily basis
Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements
Drive continuous improvement to maximise production yield and solvent recovery across projects
Track and report plant operations data on a daily basis
Conduct CAPA and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for deviations and share reports with management
Willingness to travel across India for commissioning and manufacturing activities
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in R&D process scale-up and plant integration.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of mass and energy transfer, process flow diagrams, and plant equipment mapping.
Familiarity with pilot-to-plant scale transitions and process optimization techniques.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and rapport-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Dynamic, goal-oriented, and capable of working in fast-paced environments.
Other Skills: Analytical mindset with proven problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive and "go-getter" attitude.
