CAS modeler / Digital Sculptor
Job Description
Overview:
Studio Keydesigns is seeking an Alias geek to join our growing team as a Digital Sculptor. It’s a role which demands proficiency and versatility in Concept modelling, CAS modelling and a bit of Class A Surfacing using Autodesk Alias.
Role and Responsibilities:
Concept Modelling – Convert design sketches into quick concept level digital data using Autodesk Alias as primary modelling tool. Should be able to understand the design intent and translate it into digital 3D space with high level of closeness to the sketches. Experience with Subdivision modelling or polygon modelling will be an added advantage.
CAS Modelling – Generate CAS data from the available concept models that adheres / satisfies the engineering packaging needs. Very good level of surface quality – patch planning, highlight flow, CV distribution etc. Develop surfaces which adhere precisely to the engineering inputs like master sections etc. Ability to learn and adapt to the manufacturing requirements in various materials like Sheet metal, plastics, composites and various processes.
Class A Modelling – Generation of Class A level data which is flawless in terms of its highlights and mathematical construction.
Qualifying criteria:
Education:
Graduate or Diploma in Engineering or Design.
Software tools:
Proven expertise in surfacing using Autodesk Alias
Experience of Subdivision modelling in Alias or Polygon modelling with Blender
Experience :
1-6 years of professional experience.
Skills / Attributes
Should be able to understand sketches and visualize various form transitions.
Should be a curious and enthusiastic character.
Result oriented mindset.
Should be able to be comfortable in both independent assignments and collaborative assignments.
Keen eye for details.
