Job Description: Outpatient Medical Coders (3 Years Experience)

Position: Outpatient Medical Coders

Experi ence: Minimum 3 Years in Outpatient Coding

Location: Hyderabad

Employment Type: Full-time

Work mode: Office

Shift timing: 2pm to 11pm

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Review outpatient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding is compliant with CMS, AMA, NCCI edits, and payer-specific guidelines.
• Code charts for outpatient services such as OPD visits, diagnostic services, minor procedures, therapy, labs, and radiology.
• Validate medical necessity and ensure alignment between documentation and assigned codes.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation and improve accuracy.
• Work with billing and AR teams to resolve coding-related denials and support appeals.
• Conduct periodic self-audits to maintain high accuracy levels.
• Stay updated with coding rules, annual guideline updates, and regulatory changes.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of outpatient coding rules and guidelines.
• Expertise in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and E/M outpatient guidelines.
• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems and coding platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret provider documentation accurately.
• Good understanding of outpatient billing workflow and payer policies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Preferred Certifications (Any One):

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
• COC (Certified Outpatient Coder)
• CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
• CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist –Physician-based)
