Experience - 10+ Years Post-Qualification\nProfessional Status - Registered Architect / Licensed Professional\n\nABOUT THE ROLE\nWe are seeking an accomplished Senior Architect & Planner at AVP level to lead the design and delivery of large-scale infrastructure and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification in Architecture / Urban\nDesign / Urban Planning from a reputable institution and will bring a minimum of ten years of post-qualification experience — with a significant portion of that gained within a recognised architectural design practice or multidisciplinary design consultancy.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a key technical authority within the team, driving projects from concept through to completion while mentoring the next generation of design professionals.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n• Lead architectural design and planning across all project phases — feasibility, concept, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and site administration.\n• Own the design direction and manage outputs from Global consultants for large-scale, high complexity projects within mixed-use commercial developments.\n• Create masterplan / concept-level design proposals for complex and multi-asset projects.\n• Manage and present design proposals, planning submissions, and technical documentation to clients, statutory authorities, and key stakeholders a\n• Navigate internal teams for statutory planning approvals, building permits, zoning regulations, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements across relevant geographies.\n• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical due diligence for greenfield and brownfield development opportunities.\n• Support the Execution teams and Monitor project design budgets, programmes, and quality benchmarks throughout the design and construction lifecycle; identify and proactively manage risks.\n• Liaise with contractors, project managers, and construction teams during delivery to ensure design intent is upheld to completion.\n• Mentor, guide, and technically review the work of junior architects, designers, and graduates within the team.\n• Stay abreast of evolving building codes, sustainability standards, and industry best practices; champion their adoption within project teams.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE\nEducational Background\n• Master's degree in architecture (M.Arch or equivalent) from an accredited institution — strongly preferred; Bachelor's degree considered where complemented by an exceptional track record.\n• Registered Architect / Licensed Professional in the applicable jurisdiction.\n• Postgraduate or professional certification in a related discipline (Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture) — advantageous.\nProfessional Experience\n• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in architectural design and planning.\n• Substantial experience (5+ years) within an established architectural design practice, multidisciplinary design\nconsultancy, or specialist design firm — essential.\n• Demonstrated design delivery of large-scale projects (50,000 sqm+ GFA or equivalent capital value) from inception through to completion.\n• Experience in mixed-use developments is critical.\n• Comprehensive working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS PowerPoint, SketchUp, and Illustrator.\n• Working knowledge of planning law, development control frameworks, and statutory approval processes.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n• Familiarity with consultant driven sustainability certification processes — LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, or regional equivalents.\n• Exposure to international or cross-border projects; ability to navigate diverse regulatory and cultural environments.\n• Postgraduate qualification in Urban Planning or a related built-environment discipline.\nSKILLS & COMPETENCIES\n• Sophisticated design sensibility balanced with strong technical literacy and commercial acumen.\n• Excellent communication and presentation skills — confident engaging clients, consultants, authorities, and C-suite\nstakeholders.\n• Strategic thinker with sharp problem-solving capabilities and sound judgement under pressure.\n• Highly organised; capable of managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities without compromising\nquality.\n• Collaborative team leader who inspires confidence at both peer and senior stakeholder levels.\n• Detail-oriented in documentation and deliverables without losing sight of the broader project vision.\n• High personal and professional integrity, with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.\nWHAT WE OFFER\n• Competitive, AVP-level remuneration package commensurate with experience and market benchmarks.\n• Opportunity to lead landmark, large-scale infrastructure projects with meaningful societal impact.\n• Dynamic, collaborative, and intellectually stimulating work environment.\n• A clearly defined career pathway into VP and senior leadership positions.
