Job Description

Position: Director for an Educational Institute

Location: Kolkata

Experience: 25–30 years (Candidates with extensive experience in the education sector, including professionals approaching retirement, are encouraged to apply.)

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and drive the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the institute.
  • Advise the Board and senior management on institutional growth, policy formulation, and academic development.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion, new academic programs, institutional partnerships, and innovation.

Academic Excellence

  • Guide academic leadership teams in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, research, innovation, and faculty development.

Institutional Governance

  • Ensure effective governance across all the institute.
  • Establish and monitor policies, SOPs, and best practices to strengthen institutional efficiency.
  • Support Principals, Directors, Deans, and senior administrators in achieving organizational objectives.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable educational regulations, statutory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Lead preparations for inspections, audits, accreditations, and government reviews.

Operations & Administration

  • Provide strategic oversight of institutional operations, administration, infrastructure planning, and resource optimization.
  • Review budgets, capital expenditure proposals, and operational performance.
  • Drive process improvements and organizational effectiveness across campuses.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, universities, accreditation agencies, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Represent the institute at academic forums, conferences, and external engagements.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor senior academic and administrative leaders.
  • Develop leadership capabilities within the organization and support succession planning.

Required Experience and Qualification:

  • 25–35+ years of progressive experience , with the majority of their career spent in the education sector.
  • Ph.D. in Management (preferred) or any other related fields.
  • Extensive leadership experience in schools, colleges, universities, higher education institutions, or reputed education groups.
  • Prior experience in roles such as Director, Principal, Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean, CEO (Education), Group Academic Head, or equivalent senior leadership positions.
  • Strong understanding of educational governance, institutional administration, accreditation processes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple institutions or campuses.
