Windows & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Job Summary The Windows & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, upgrading, securing, and operating Windows server environments across on premises and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on Windows in place upgrades, golden image hardening, VM lifecycle management, SCCM administration, and network troubleshooting, while ensuring strict adherence to ITIL processes and SLA commitments. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Windows Server Management • Perform in place upgrades of Windows Server from 2016 to 2025, including assessment, planning, execution, rollback planning, and post upgrade validation • Ensure system compatibility, application readiness, and minimal downtime during upgrade activities • Troubleshoot OS level issues related to performance, security, and stability Golden Image Creation & Hardening • Design, build, and maintain golden images for Windows servers • Implement OS hardening in line with industry best practices and security baselines (CIS/Microsoft Security Baseline) • Regularly update images with patches, drivers, and security configurations • Support image deployment for both on prem and GCP environments Virtual Machine Provisioning (On Prem & GCP) • Create, configure, and manage virtual machines on on prem virtualization platforms and Google Cloud Platform (GCE) • Manage VM sizing, disk configurations, snapshots, backups, and lifecycle operations • Work with cloud constructs such as VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, and service accounts SCCM Configuration & Management • Administer Microsoft SCCM for OS deployment, patch management, application deployment, and compliance reporting • Troubleshoot SCCM client and server side issues • Support endpoint and server patching cycles with minimal business impact Network Troubleshooting • Perform server level network troubleshooting including DNS, DHCP, routing, firewall, and load balancer issues • Troubleshoot GCP networking issues such as VPC connectivity, firewall rules, routes, and hybrid connectivity • Collaborate with network teams for complex cross platform issues ITIL Process & SLA Adherence • Operate within ITIL frameworks including Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management • Ensure all activities comply with approved change processes and change windows • Meet and maintain SLA and KPI targets for availability, incident resolution, and service delivery • Provide accurate documentation and operational runbooks ________________________________________ Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills • Strong experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 administration • Proven hands on experience in Windows in place upgrades • Experience in Golden Image building and OS hardening • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – Compute Engine, VPC Networking • Solid understanding of SCCM administration • Strong troubleshooting skills in OS, network, and cloud environments Process & Soft Skills • Good understanding of ITIL processes • Experience working in SLA driven production environments • Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills • Ability to work independently and in cross functional teams
