We are seeking a talented individual to join our Treaty Reinsurance (Guy Carpenter) team at Marsh Risk India, a Marsh business. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.\n\nExecutive Vice President/ Vice President\n\nWe will count on you to:\nCore Job Responsibilities\nTreaty Structuring & Placement: Design and place proportional (Quota Share/Surplus) and non-proportional (Excess of Loss/Stop Loss) treaties, covering entire portfolios rather than individual risks.\nBusiness Procurement & Relationship Management: Identify, approach, and maintain strong relationships with domestic (e.g., GIC Re) and international reinsurers and brokers.\nTechnical Analysis & Risk Assessment: Analyze client underwriting portfolios, loss history, and risk retention philosophy to provide technical data for reinsurance pricing.\nMarket Negotiation & Placement: Negotiate competitive treaty terms, including commission, rates, and coverage limits.\nDocumentation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations on reinsurance\nClaims & Accounts Management: Assist in claims negotiation, settlement, and premium remittance to ensure proper cash flow between insurer and reinsurer\nCore Competencies:\nClient Focus: Understands client needs and delivers tailored solutions that create value and strengthen relationships.\nCommunication: Clearly and confidently conveys information, both verbally and in writing, while listening actively and empathetically.\nCollaboration: Works effectively with colleagues across teams and disciplines to achieve shared goals.\nAnalytical Thinking: Gathers and interprets complex information, identifies key issues, and proposes practical, well-reasoned solutions.\nCommercial Awareness: Demonstrates understanding of market dynamics and identifies opportunities for business growth.\nIntegrity and Accountability: Acts with honesty, transparency, and professionalism; takes ownership for delivering quality outcomes.\nAdaptability: Adjusts effectively to new situations, challenges, and client requirements while maintaining focus and composure.\nResilience: Performs effectively under pressure and remains positive and solution-oriented in the face of challenges.\nContinuous Learning: Proactively seeks opportunities for professional development and knowledge sharing.\nInnovation: Brings forward new ideas and creative approaches to improve client service and business performance.\n\nWhat you need to have:\n12-15 years of proven experience in reinsurance broking or a related client-facing reinsurance role, in India\nStrong understanding of treaty and facultative placements, all lines of reinsurance\nExcellent working knowledge of Indian and international reinsurance markets.\nCollaborative approach with the ability to work flexibly within a team.\nEducation – Graduate / Post Graduate\nCommitment to professional development and maintaining the highest standards of conduct, integrity, and customer focus\n\nWhat makes you stand out:\nProven Leadership skill traits (elected leader in community, school & college).
