Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Civil Projects to support the General Manager in planning, executing, monitoring, and delivering large-scale civil construction projects. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, or infrastructure projects with strong leadership, technical, and project management capabilities.
The AGM will be responsible for coordinating with project teams, consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Assist the General Manager in planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple construction projects.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Prepare project execution strategies and monitor overall project performance.
- Coordinate with site teams for effective implementation of project plans.
Construction Execution
- Supervise day-to-day site activities and resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure adherence to construction schedules.
- Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Review construction methodologies and optimize productivity.
Planning & Monitoring
- Track project progress against baseline schedules.
- Identify delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Coordinate with Planning Engineers for schedule updates and recovery plans.
Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate inspections and quality audits.
- Monitor implementation of QA/QC procedures.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes and standards.
Safety Management
- Ensure implementation of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
- Conduct regular site safety reviews.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture.
- Ensure statutory safety compliance across project sites.
Cost & Commercial Control
- Monitor project costs and resource utilization.
- Review contractor bills and work certifications.
- Coordinate with Quantity Surveying and Commercial teams.
- Support cost optimization initiatives.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients.
- Participate in project review meetings.
- Address technical queries and client concerns.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Resource Management
- Plan Client, equipment, and material requirements.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Support procurement planning and material availability.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare project status reports for management.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
- Ensure timely submission of MIS reports.
- Support audits and statutory inspections.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
- PMP/PRINCE2 certification will be an added advantage.
- M.Tech/MBA in Project Management is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Civil Construction Projects.
- Experience in managing large residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience handling projects from inception to completion.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
