Essential Job Functions:
Azure Architecture & Platform Design
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale Azure Landing Zones aligned with the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and hub-spoke architecture.

Architect and govern:

  • Azure Virtual Networks (VNet), Subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and User-Defined Routes (UDRs)
  • Private Endpoints, Service Endpoints, and Azure Private Link
  • ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and VNet Peering (Regional/Global)
  • Define architecture for multi-region deployments (Active-Active and Active-Passive Disaster Recovery).
  • Lead deployment of Azure Availability Sets, Availability Zones, and Zone-Redundant Services.
  • Design PaaS architectures using:
    • Azure App Service
    • Azure Functions
    • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Establish High Availability (HA), resiliency (RPO/RTO), and fault-tolerance strategies.
  • Design and implement Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks (Good to Have).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release strategies.
Azure Security & Governance
  • Define and enforce:
    • Azure RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)
    • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) integration
    • Azure Policy, Initiative Definitions, and Azure Blueprints
  • Implement:
    • Azure Key Vault for secrets and certificate management
    • Managed Identities (System-Assigned and User-Assigned)
  • Govern:
    • Zero Trust security architecture principles
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Security baselines
    • Audit requirements
    • Regulatory and compliance frameworks
Observability, Monitoring & FinOps
  • Architect monitoring solutions using:
    • Azure Monitor
    • Log Analytics Workspace
    • Application Insights for application telemetry
  • Implement:
    • Alert Rules
    • Action Groups
    • Dashboards and monitoring reports
  • Enable centralized logging and distributed tracing.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization (FinOps) through:
    • Azure Reservations
    • Autoscaling
    • Resource Right-Sizing
Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
  • Define and govern:
    • Azure Backup policies
    • Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for Disaster Recovery orchestration
  • Design:
    • Cross-region failover and recovery strategies
  • Ensure:
    • Periodic Disaster Recovery (DR) drills
    • Business continuity validation and testing
Operations Leadership
  • Act as the Level 3 (L3) technical escalation point for major incidents.
  • Lead Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Ensure:
    • Compliance with runbook-driven operations
    • Adherence to the RACI model
    • Alignment with CAB (Change Advisory Board) and change management processes
  • Drive:
    • Automation of repetitive BAU (Business-as-Usual) operational activities
  • Standardize:
    • Operational documentation
    • Knowledge articles
    • Onboarding guides for new markets
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with:
    • Customer's global IT teams (EU, ANZ, and US)
    • Security teams
    • Network teams
    • Application teams
  • Provide:
    • Architecture reviews
    • Solution validation
    • Technical guidance and recommendations
  • Participate in:
    • Customer governance forums
    • Architecture discussions
    • Technical design and review meetings
