Description:
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and manage network security solutions to safeguard enterprise infrastructure.
• Work extensively with Zeek (formerly Bro) for network traffic analysis and threat detection.
• Configure and maintain Zeek sensors on physical servers for network monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set up physical server connections and ensure proper installation and configuration of Zeek.
• Integrate Zeek logs with Splunk for centralized monitoring, alerting, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards, alerts, and queries for network security analytics.
• Perform incident detection, analysis, and response using Zeek and Splunk data.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot network security issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Document processes, configurations, and security incidents for audit and knowledge sharing.
Essential Skills:
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS).
• Hands-on experience with Zeek/Bro deployment and configuration.
• Expertise in Splunk administration and log integration.
• Knowledge of network security concepts such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, and packet analysis.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems for server setup and troubleshooting.
• Ability to collaborate with infrastructure and network teams for physical and logical connectivity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable skills:
• Experience with SIEM tools beyond Splunk.
• Knowledge of Python or Bash scripting for automation.
• Understanding of cloud security and hybrid environments.
• Certifications like CISSP, CEH, or Splunk Certified Power User are a plus. |
