Key Responsibilities
1) Functional Testing – Oracle Fusion Financials (Accounts-Focused)
· Perform functional validation of Oracle Fusion Financial processes related to:
o General Ledger (GL): journals, allocations, period close, revaluation, translations, balances, COA validations
o Accounts Payable (AP) (if in scope): invoices, payments, holds, matching, approvals
o Accounts Receivable (AR) (if in scope): billing, receipts, applications, adjustments, credit memos
o Fixed Assets (FA) (if in scope): asset additions, depreciation, retirements, transfers
o Cash Management (CM) (if in scope): bank statements, reconciliation
- Validate configurations and functional setups (COA, ledgers, calendars, accounting rules, tax rules, approval workflows, business units, legal entities).
- Execute testing for financial close activities and ensure controls, audit readiness, and compliance requirements are met.
2) Functional Testing – Non-Oracle Financial Applications
· Perform functional testing of non-Oracle applications that interact with finance processes such as:
o Expense systems, billing platforms, procurement tools, treasury tools, payment gateways, reconciliation tools, reporting/BI tools, etc.
- Validate end-to-end business flows across systems, ensuring:
o Correct data transformation and mapping
- Posting logic consistency
- Reconciliation accuracy (subledger → GL)
- Audit trail and exception handling
3) Integration & Data Validation
· Validate integrations including (as applicable): OIC, REST/SOAP, SFTP file-based imports, ERP adapters, middleware.
- Validate inbound/outbound interfaces such as:
o Vendor/customer data, invoices, receipts, journals, payments, bank statements, exchange rates, tax data
- Perform data reconciliation, cross-system validations, and ensure accounting entries align with business rules.
4) Quarterly Patch Testing (Oracle Updates)
· Participate in Quarterly Patch Testing cycles:
o Review Oracle release notes/impact areas with functional stakeholders
- Identify impacted processes and prioritize regression scope
- Execute sanity + focused regression + full regression (based on change impact)
- Document defects, coordinate triage, retest fixes, and support sign-off
- Provide testing status, risks, and go/no-go recommendations for patch deployments.
5) Test Design, Execution & Defect Management
· Create and maintain:
o Test strategy, test scenarios, test cases, traceability matrix
- Regression suite for critical finance flows
- Perform SIT, UAT support, regression, smoke, and production validation when required.
- Log and manage defects in tools like Jira/Azure DevOps/ALM, including:
o Clear reproduction steps, evidence, severity/priority, root cause support
- Collaborate closely with:
o Finance SMEs, Oracle functional consultants, developers, integration teams, and release managers
6) Documentation, Reporting & Quality Governance
· Produce QA deliverables:
o Daily/weekly test execution dashboards
- Defect metrics, trends, and closure reports
- Test completion reports and sign-off documentation
