Role Overview

We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and strong Legal Content Writer to join Bars Across.

\n

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys legal research, sharp writing, and turning complex legal issues into clear, engaging, and well-structured content. You will work on a range of legal content, including articles, explainers, legal insights, case updates, interviews and firm updates.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Research legal developments, judgments, regulations, policy changes, and practice-area-specific topics.
  • \n
  • Write, edit, and proofread legal articles, explainers, case updates, thought-leadership pieces, interviews, and social-media content.
  • \n
  • Simplify complex legal concepts for lawyers, businesses, founders, and non-legal readers without compromising legal accuracy.
  • \n
  • Work with lawyers, law firms, and the Bars Across editorial team to develop publishable and insightful content.
  • \n
  • Conduct fact-checking, source verification, citation checks, and basic legal research before publication.
  • \n
  • Identify relevant and timely legal topics, judgments, developments, and content ideas.
  • \n
  • Support editorial planning and content calendars across the Bars Across website and social-media platforms.
  • \n
  • Ensure that all content follows Bars Across’ editorial tone, quality standards, formatting requirements, and publishing guidelines.
  • \n
  • Assist with content updates, repurposing articles into short-form posts, and improving clarity, structure, and reader engagement.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent command of written English , including grammar, structure, clarity, and tone.
  • \n
  • Ability to write clearly for both legal and non-legal audiences.
  • \n
  • Genuine interest in legal journalism, legal publishing, court developments, policy, and legal research.
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
  • \n
  • Ability to independently manage research and writing assignments within deadlines.

  • Openness to feedback, editing, and improving drafts through the editorial process.

  • A thoughtful and reader-first approach to legal content.

  • Law student, law graduate, or someone with relevant legal-content-writing experience.

  • Previous experience writing for a legal publication, law firm, legal blog, journal, research organisation, or academic platform.

  • Familiarity with court websites, legal databases, statutes, judgments, and primary legal sources.
  • \n
  • Interest or exposure to Indian, UK, UAE, or cross-border legal developments.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with SEO writing and CMS platforms.
  • \n
  • Published articles, legal research papers, blogs, or writing samples.
