Exp: 10+ Years
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Platform Architecture & Design
- Architect end-to-end Microsoft Fabric solutions spanning OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, Dataflows Gen2, and Real-Time Intelligence (Eventstream, KQL databases).
- Define multi-workspace Fabric tenancy models, capacity planning, and domain-level workspace governance aligned to enterprise data mesh principles.
- Design lakehouse medallion architectures (Bronze / Silver / Gold) on OneLake with appropriate Delta Lake table strategies, partitioning, and Z-ordering.
- Produce architecture blueprints, HLD/LLD documents, and technology decision frameworks for client engagements.
- Evaluate and recommend Fabric vs. Azure Synapse vs. Databricks trade-offs based on client maturity, workload type, and TCO.
Azure Data Platform Delivery (Foundation Expertise)
- Lead delivery of Azure Synapse Analytics workspaces — dedicated/serverless SQL pools, Spark pools, integration pipelines, and linked services.
- Architect Azure Data Factory pipelines for complex ingestion patterns: CDC, incremental loads, event-driven triggers, and parameterized templates.
- Design Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 zone structures, ACL/RBAC security models, and lifecycle management policies.
- Implement Azure Databricks solutions for large-scale data transformation, ML feature engineering, and Unity Catalog governance.
- Integrate Azure Event Hubs, IoT Hub, and Stream Analytics for real-time data ingestion architectures feeding Fabric or Synapse.
Semantic Layer & Analytics
- Build and govern Power BI semantic models (tabular models, DirectLake mode) for enterprise-grade, governed self-service analytics.
- Define DAX calculation standards, row-level security patterns, and deployment pipeline (CI/CD) strategies for Power BI assets.
- Design Fabric SQL Analytics Endpoints and Warehouse schemas for analytical query workloads.
- Architect OneLake shortcuts and mirroring strategies to unify data from Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and external sources without data movement.
Data Governance & Security
- Implement Microsoft Purview for data cataloguing, lineage tracking, sensitivity labeling, and policy enforcement across Fabric and Azure assets.
- Define Fabric workspace roles, item-level permissions, and tenant-level admin policies for enterprise data security.
- Design data masking, encryption-at-rest/in-transit, and private endpoint strategies aligned to regulatory requirements (DPDP, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Establish data quality frameworks using Fabric notebooks, DQX, or Great Expectations integrated into pipeline workflows.
AI-Ready Data Platform
- Design OneLake-based feature stores and vector-ready data layers that serve Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Azure ML workloads.
- Architect GraphRAG and RAG pipelines using Fabric as the data backbone feeding Azure AI Foundry agents.
- Integrate Fabric Copilot and AI Skills capabilities to enable natural language analytics for business users.
- Expose Fabric data assets as MCP (Model Context Protocol) tool servers for agentic AI consumption.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead architecture discovery workshops, current-state assessments, and Fabric readiness evaluations with enterprise clients.
- Mentor delivery teams of junior and mid-level data engineers on Fabric patterns, Azure best practices, and coding standards.
