About The Job:
- Experience: 3+ Years (2.5 Years relevant)

- As an API Developer (Apigee), you will be a key contributor to our API Modernization team.
- You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of API proxies, from design and onboarding to security implementation and performance monitoring.
- You will focus on building high-quality, reusable components and ensuring the API Management ecosystem is secure, scalable, and developer-friendly.
Essential Job Functions:
API Proxy Development & Onboarding
- Onboard backend services to the Apigee platform by designing and developing RESTful, gRPC and SOAP-based API proxies.
- Implement Traffic Management policies (Spike Arrest, Quota, Caching) to ensure backend stability.
- Design and execute Mediation policies (JSON to XML, XSLT, JavaScript) for complex request/response transformations.
Reusability & Governance
- Build and maintain Shared Flows to standardize common logic across multiple proxies (e.g., standard error handling, logging, and security headers).
- Utilize Flow Hooks to enforce global policies across environments.
Security & Configuration Management
- Configure and manage Key Value Maps (KVMs) for secure storage of environment-specific configurations and credentials.
- Implement advanced security protocols, including OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, and API Key verification.
- Handle infrastructure-level security configurations, specifically mTLS (Mutual TLS) for secure communication between Apigee and Target Servers.
- Manage Target Servers and Keystores/Truststores for robust backend connectivity.
Analytics & Monitoring
- Leverage Apigee Analytics to generate custom reports and dashboards for API performance, latency, and error trends.
- Use the Debug (Trace) tool to troubleshoot complex runtime issues and optimize proxy performance.
CI/CD & Automation
- Integrate API proxy deployments into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) using Maven or Grunt.
- Manage configurations across multiple environments (Dev, Test, Prod) using automated scripts.
Enterprise Workflow & Application Integration
- Design, build, and deploy end-to-end integration workflows using Google Cloud Application Integration.
- Connect disparate enterprise applications (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, databases) using out-of-the-box and custom Integration Connectors.
- Implement data mapping, conditional branching, and parallel execution tasks within integration graphs.
- Integrate Apigee proxies with Application Integration engines using the Integration Callout policy for seamless API-led orchestration.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills Required
- Core Platform: Hands-on experience with Apigee X/Hybrid, Application Integration or Apigee Edge.
- Standards: Deep understanding of REST, JSON, XML, Strong grasp of integration design patterns (pub/sub, synchronous/asynchronous, event-driven architecture), and OpenAPI Specification (Swagger), Integration Workflow.
- Security: Proficiency in TLS/mTLS, OAuth2, SAML, and JWT.
- Scripting: Strong skills in JavaScript or Java for custom policy extensions.
- Tools: Experience with Apigeelint, Postman, Git, Apickli and Cloud Logging for testing and logging.

- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Developer.
- Experience with Integrated and Drupal-based Developer Portals.
- Familiarity with other API Management Platforms.
- Familiarity with building custom reports using Looker Studio.
