CAM Programmer

Job Description/Roles

• Adjust and optimize machining programs for improving quality, lowering cost and for reducing machining time
\n
• Read drawings and 3D models provided and prepare CNC programs for various types of machines (Vertical, Horizontal and 5 axis type)
\n
• Use CAM programming software for preparing CNC programs for Dies and elements of dies (Sheet metal progressive dies)
\n
• Prepare all types of necessary tool paths using CAM software (2D milling, 3D milling, multi-axis milling and plate machining) considering materials of parts
\n
• Drive and ensure delivering CAM programs as per machining schedules
\n
• Understand and guide juniors when necessary while providing CAM programs for special machining requirements
\n
• Understand machining parameters, machine shop standards, requirements and incorporate into programs
\n
• Collect and update cutter and machine information on regular basis in CAM programing software
\n
• Troubleshoot and solve when necessary for machining related issues
\n
• Develop good machining standards and continuously improve standard practices
\n
• Coordinate related functions when necessary like Die design, Machining etc.
\n

Qualifications/Requirements

\n
• Minimum 8 years related experience in CNC programming
\n
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or BE
\n
• Strong working knowledge in MasterCAM is required
\n
• Experience in preparing CNC programs for machining of stamping dies
\n
• Knowledge of various machines and controls used for die making (sheet metal dies)
\n
• Good knowledge in GD&T and ability to read Engineering drawings
\n
• Basic CAD skills in Autodesk Inventor or CATIA V5 or UG NX
\n
• Experience of working in Tool shops
\n
• Able to deliver results under tight timelines
\n
• Proactive problem solving skills.
\n
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
\n
• Fluent in English speaking. Ability to read and write in English clearly.
\n
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
\n
