Absolute is seeking an experienced Scientist specializing in Synthetic Biology and Microbial

\n

Genetics. The role involves engineering microbial strains for improved phenotypes and

\n

recombinant molecule production.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

%CF; Work with laboratory strains of Escherichia coli, fungi, yeast, etc., using aseptic

\n

techniques for culturing, maintenance, and transformation.

\n

%CF; Perform advanced molecular biology techniques including recombinant cloning, genome

\n

editing, and recombinant knockouts.

\n

%CF; Conduct genome editing of microorganisms for improved phenotype and heterologous

\n

production of recombinant molecules.

\n

%CF; Carry out fermentation studies for recombinant strains, focusing on yield optimization

\n

and scale-up.

\n

%CF; Design, implement, and characterize novel gene constructs.

\n

%CF; Perform metabolic engineering of recombinant strains and analyze metabolic flux.

\n

%CF; Prepare and execute established methods and SOPs.

\n

%CF; Deliver high-quality results within timelines and communicate effectively with

\n

stakeholders.

\n

%CF; Drive process improvements and maintain equipment, data, and records as per

\n

specifications.

\n

Qualifications & Experience

\n

%CF; Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology,

\n

or related field.

\n

%CF; Minimum 3 years of postdoctoral experience in pharmaceutical, or biotechnology

\n

settings working on recombinant platforms for novel molecule production (e.g., flavors

\n

and fragrances).

\n

%CF; Proven experience in metabolic pathway engineering of yeast and bacterial systems

\n

using advanced molecular biology tools.

\n

%CF; Proficiency with metabolic pathway prediction tools.

\n

%CF; Strong foundation in fundamental molecular biology techniques.

\n

%CF; Exposure to gene circuit design, cell engineering, and strain development is highly

\n

desirable.

\n

%CF; Demonstrated ability to collaborate with skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial

\n

environment.

\n

%CF; Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical

\n

information clearly.

\n

%CF; Execution-focused, team-oriented, and comfortable meeting challenging commitments.
