Business Head Foundry Operations

Location: Coimbatore, India

Reporting to: Division Head

\n


About the Role \n

This role leads a standalone foundry business as a strategic profit center. The Business Head will be accountable for driving growth, operational excellence, and profitability while strengthening market presence across industrial sectors. The position requires a blend of commercial leadership, deep foundry expertise, and the ability to scale performance through technology, people, and process excellence.

Key Accountabilities \n


Business & Growth Leadership \n
    \n
  • Define and implement medium- to long-term business strategies aligned with overall organizational objectives
  • \n
  • Expand presence across domestic and international industrial markets
  • \n
  • Build a diversified customer portfolio across machinery, power, rail, construction, valves, pumps, and general engineering
  • \n
  • Track global benchmarks and translate best practices into competitive advantage
  • \n
Financial & Operational Ownership \n
    \n
  • Hold end-to-end responsibility for P&L performance, including margins, costs, and working capital
  • \n
  • Lead all manufacturing activities across melting, molding, casting, machining, and finishing
  • \n
  • Improve throughput, yield, and asset utilization while minimizing scrap and rework
  • \n
  • Ensure delivery reliability and adherence to customer commitments
  • \n
Quality, Technology & Continuous Improvement \n
    \n
  • Strengthen quality systems and certifications in line with global standards
  • \n
  • Drive modernization through automation, digital tools, and process simulation
  • \n
  • Embed lean manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement disciplines across operations
  • \n
Sales & Customer Engagement \n
    \n
  • Shape and execute go-to-market strategies for industrial and OEM customers
  • \n
  • Develop long-term relationships with key accounts and global buyers
  • \n
  • Partner with customers on technical solutions, quality assurance, and delivery excellence
  • \n
People & Culture \n
    \n
  • Build and mentor a strong leadership team across functions
  • \n
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and performance ownership
  • \n
  • Develop technical depth and leadership succession within the organization
  • \n
Compliance, EHS & Sustainability \n
    \n
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations
  • \n
  • Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact
  • \n
  • Drive world-class safety standards across operations

Candidate Profile \n


Education \n
    \n
  • Bachelor s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Production Engineering
  • \n
  • MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage
  • \n
Experience \n
    \n
  • 20+ years in foundry or metal casting operations
  • \n
  • Minimum 5 7 years in a senior leadership role with full P&L accountability
  • \n
  • Experience managing medium to large manufacturing units serving industrial and/or automotive customers
  • \n
  • Hands-on exposure to advanced foundry technologies, automation, and quality systems
  • \n
