\n\nMAIN RESPONSABILITIES
\n The Linux L3 Engineer acts as the highest level of operational support within the organization's Linux
\n infrastructure team. The role involves handling complex incidents escalating from L2, ensuring
\n environmental stability, performing deep-dive analysis, and driving automation and optimization
\n initiatives. The engineer will also be responsible for mentoring L2 engineers, maintaining documentation,
\n and ensuring adherence to best practices across all Linux flavors.
\n KEY ACTIVITIES & TASKS
\n * Manage and resolve high-priority incidents and complex escalations received from L2 support. *
\n Administer and maintain enterprise-grade Linux systems across all flavors
\n * Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
\n * Handle OS-level patching, security updates, kernel upgrades, and configuration tuning.
\n * Plan and implement performance optimization and capacity management strategies.
\n * Image creation
\n * Automate repetitive system tasks and configuration using shell scripting or configuration management
\n tools.
\n * Collaborate with network, storage, and cloud teams to support integrated technical environments.
\n * Create and maintain technical documentation, process manuals, and troubleshooting guides. * Provide
\n technical guidance, mentoring, and training support to L2 engineers.
\n * Ensure adherence to ITSM processes and participate in change, problem, and incident management.
\n * Participate in shift rotations, ensuring coverage for operations across environments.
The Successful Applicant
\n\nA successful Cloud & Managed Apps - L3 Linux professional should have:
\n * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
\n * Advanced hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, especially RHEL, SLES and Ubuntu.
\n * Expertise in system performance tuning, process management, and troubleshooting of critical
\n production issues.
\n * Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation.
\n * Strong knowledge of system services, boot processes, and kernel parameters.
\n * Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, AWX
\n * Familiarity on cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
\n * Proficient in managing file systems (EXT4, XFS, NFS), LVMs, and backup environments.
\n * Experience with enterprise monitoring tools
\n * Understanding of security policies, hardening standards, and system compliance.
\n * Image creation
\n * Strong analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
\n * Proven ability to manage critical incidents (P1/P2), lead war-room calls, and communicate with clients
\n under pressure.
\n * Exposure to ITSM processes.
\n * Proven track record in managing large-scale Linux deployments in production environments.
\n Certifications
\n * RHCE, SLES Certified Engineer, or LFCE preferred.
\n * ITIL Foundation certification is an added advantage
