AWS/Azure Cassandra & Scylla DB (5+ Years) - Hyderabad
\nJob Description:
\nBe the DB expert to reach out regarding NoSQL DBs.
\nStay up to date with the latest developments in the NoSQL space.
\nReview data models created by application teams.
\nManage our Cassandra and Scylla clusters with a focus on capacity management, cost optimization, high availability and performance.
\nWork with large database clusters handling 1M+ IOPS in aggregate.
\nCreate automations to reduce toil.
\nCreate automations for monitoring and alerting.
\nCreate runbooks for alert handling.
\nSetup backup and restore mechanisms.
\nTroubleshoot and resolve various issues with cluster related to nodes, table data, high load, connectivity issues from clients, etc.
\nBe the on-call support engineer on a rotational basis.
\nQualifications Mandatory:
\nBachelors/master s in engineering from reputed institutions.
\nOverall 5+ years of experience in SQL and NoSQL databases.
\nExperience managing large-scale Cassandra and Scylla clusters within depth understanding of architecture, storage, replication, schema design, system tables, logs, DB processes, tools and CQL.
\nExperience with installation, configuration, upgrades, OS patching, certificate management, scaling (out/in) for Cassandra and Scylla clusters.
\nExperience in setting up backup and restore mechanisms with short RTO and RPO objectives.
\nExperience with infrastructure automation and scripting using Terraform, Python or Bash.
\nExperience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, Datadog, etc
\nExperience with managed Cassandra solutions (InstaClustr, Datastax Astra) is a plus.
\nExperience with Cloud native distributed databases (eg: TiDB, CockroachDB) is a plus.
\nExperience with MySQL and/or Postgres on Linux is a plus.
\nExperience working with AWS, with AWS certification preferred.
\nExcellent communication skills.
\n
