Head of Commercial Fleet & Logistics Business

Role Overview

\n

Our client seeking a highly capable commercial leader to establish and manage the commercial backbone of a new fleet and logistics business. The role will oversee procurement, vehicle onboarding, vendor management, RTO coordination, insurance, permits, compliance, commercial negotiations, and all operational commercial activities related to fleet setup and management.

\n

The ideal candidate should have strong understanding of commercial operations within transportation or fleet-based businesses and should be comfortable building systems and processes from the ground level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial activities related to fleet and transportation operations
  • \n
  • Manage vehicle procurement coordination, registration, permits, insurance, and statutory documentation
  • \n
  • Handle RTO-related activities and ensure regulatory compliance
  • \n
  • Develop and manage vendor ecosystem for fleet operations and support services
  • \n
  • Negotiate commercial contracts, rates, and service agreements
  • \n
  • Establish procurement and commercial SOPs, controls, and governance mechanisms
  • \n
  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives across commercial functions
  • \n
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and finance teams for seamless execution
  • \n
  • Ensure timely renewals, documentation tracking, and compliance management
  • \n
  • Build scalable commercial processes aligned with business growth
  • \n
  • Monitor commercial risks and implement mitigation frameworks
  • \n

Candidate Profile

\n
    \n
  • 15+ years of experience in commercial functions within logistics, transportation, fleet management, or related industries
  • \n
  • Strong exposure to vehicle procurement, fleet documentation, permits, RTO processes, and compliance
  • \n
  • Experience in setting up commercial frameworks and vendor ecosystems from scratch preferred
  • \n
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • \n
  • Ability to work in dynamic and evolving business environments
  • \n
  • Hands-on approach with strong execution orientation
  • \n
