Job Description – MuleSoft Application Support Engineer (L3)
\n Experience

\n Role Summary
\n We are seeking a MuleSoft Application Support Engineer – L3 with 4–8 years of experience to provide advanced production support and development-level expertise for MuleSoft-based integration platforms in a banking environment. The L3 engineer will act as the final escalation point, handling complex incidents, root cause analysis, and enhancement requirements, with strong MuleSoft and IDP development knowledge.
\n Key Responsibilities
\n L3 Production Support & Advanced Troubleshooting
\n Act as the L3 escalation point for complex MuleSoft production issues.
\n Perform deep root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
\n Troubleshoot complex issues related to:
\n Mule flows and orchestration
\n DataWeave transformations
\n API performance and scalability
\n JVM, memory, and threading issues
\n Guide and mentor L1/L2 teams during critical incidents.
\n Development & Enhancements
\n Perform code-level fixes and enhancements in MuleSoft applications.
\n Design and develop:
\n Mule 4 flows and subflows
\n DataWeave scripts
\n Error handling and retry mechanisms
\n Support enhancement requests, change requirements, and continuous improvements.
\n Participate in design reviews and impact analysis.
\n MuleSoft IDP Responsibilities
\n Provide advanced support and enhancement for MuleSoft Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions.
\n Troubleshoot and resolve complex IDP issues such as:
\n OCR accuracy problems
\n Classification and extraction model failures
\n Performance and scalability challenges
\n Enhance and tune IDP workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
\n Support integration of IDP with downstream banking systems.
\n Guide L1/L2 teams on IDP-related incidents.
\n Platform, Banking & Compliance
\n Manage deployments on CloudHub / Runtime Fabric / On-Prem Mule runtimes.
\n Configure API Manager policies and security (OAuth, JWT, TLS).
\n Support integrations for core banking, payments, AML/KYC, and other banking systems.
\n Ensure adherence to banking security, compliance, and audit standards.
\n Participate in release management, DR drills, and production readiness reviews.
\n Operational Excellence
\n Own problem management and preventive actions.
\n Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
\n Participate in 24x7 on-call and rotational support.
\n Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and vendor teams.
\n Required Skills & Qualifications
\n Technical Skills
\n 4–8 years of IT experience with strong MuleSoft L3 support and development expertise.
\n Deep hands-on experience with Mule 4 and DataWeave 2.x.
\n Strong experience with MuleSoft Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
\n Expertise in REST/SOAP APIs and integration patterns.
\n Experience with performance tuning, log analysis, and troubleshooting production issues.
\n Good understanding of Linux/Unix, networking, and JVM concepts.
\n Process & Soft Skills
\n Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
\n Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
\n Ability to handle P1/P2 incidents in high-pressure environments.
\n Ability to mentor junior engineers.
\n Operational Requirement
\n This role requires readiness to provide 24x7 production support from the Noida ODC.
\n Support will be rotational, including weekends, based on operational needs.
\n Flexibility to work in shifts and provide on-call support is mandatory.
