What you will do
\n\nReview and approve NDE procedures to ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory requirements.
\n- Qualify and audit NDE operators and service providers to ensure competence and consistent performance. \n
- Support the development and implementation of inspection quality, and mechanical integrity systems and programs at sites. \n
- Lead the planning and execution of advanced NDE jobs. Provide expert interpretation of inspection results. Provide integrated analysis support with fracture mechanics experts. \n
- Support failure investigations and root cause analysis by providing NDE expertise. \n
- Work with sites and projects in NDE technique selection and implementation including:
\n %AA; Developing detailed technical requirements of the purchase specification. Act as Engineering interface and review Request for Quotation (RFQ) as needed by sites or projects.
\n %AA; Determine need for quality assessments of proposed suppliers of NDE services
\n %AA; Review, assess and approve inspection and test plans as required to achieve desired results
\n %AA; Participate in pre-award meetings for high criticality equipment
\n %AA; For application of critical or advanced NDE, participates in vendor alignment, coordination, and pre- inspection meetings to assure all aspects of the NDE purchase specifications are covered during these meetings and provide guidance necessary to achieve intended results
\n %AA; Assist with equipment / materials rejection and/or nonconformance resolution process
\n %AA; May attend during application of high criticality equipment inspection tasks at suppliers’ facilities
\n %AA; Attend application of high criticality/complex techniques at sites or fabrication facilities. \n - Provide global training in application of NDE tools, systems, codes, and standards. \n
- Conduct research and development work to support the company’s technology development program. \n
- Drive the evaluation, qualification, and deployment of advanced NDE technologies across the organization. \n
- Lead the development of internal inspection guidance documents, research reports, and specifications for new inspection technologies or novel applications. \n
- Representing the company in Joint Industry projects (JIPs) and similar industry initiatives. \n\n
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognized university in relevant engineering or related disciplines. Minimum 5 years of industry experience in advanced NDE and inspection experience in the oil & gas industry. Demonstrated work experience in applying basic and advanced NDE in the following situations
\n %AA; New fabrication and welding of:
\n – Pressure vessels/heat exchangers - air cooled/shell & tube/towers
\n – Piping - field and shop
\n – Pipelines
\n – Tanks/spheres
\n %AA; Furnaces/fired heaters/boilers
\n %AA; Repair of pressure vessels, piping, and pipelines
\n %AA; Application of basic and advanced NDE in fitness for service Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and industry practices (, API, ASME, ISO, ASNT, AWS) \n\n - Current or past ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II certification or equivalent for Radiographic (RT) film interpretation, Ultrasonic (UT), Eddy current (ET), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT) examination methods. \n
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in PAUT, TOFD, and ILI (in-line inspection) technology. \n
- Advanced degree in NDE area. \n
- Experience in leading NDE technology development projects. \n
- Working experience in Oil & Gas Owner/Operator companies or NDE service providers. \n
- Ability to interpret Industry codes and standards with respect to NDE criteria. \n
- Statistics knowledge and FFS (fitness for service) knowledge. \n
- Audit Skills - ISO Auditor/Lead Auditor Certification. \n
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) \n
- Basic Knowledge of the following:
\n o Refinery and Chemical Plant Materials of construction
\n o Corrosion and mechanical degradation mechanisms
\n o Pressure vessel, piping, and pipeline fabrication processes
\n o Positive Material Identification (PMI) tools and techniques
\n o Structural steel
\n o Painting, coating, and refractory installation
\n o Metallurgy \n - Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders. \n
- Demonstrated ability to influence operations and engineering personnel who directly support active sites. \n
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. \n
- Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork in a multi-disciplinary environment. \n
- Work shift is normally in the afternoon shift (01:30 pm to 10:30 pm) with flexibility to meet business needs. \n
