National Sales Manager – General Trade (FMCG)

Role Overview

\n

We are looking for a dynamic National Sales Manager – General Trade (NSM-GT) to drive aggressive and profitable growth across distribution, sales, and trade marketing for consumer products in India.

\n

This role will lead a large sales organization, drive business strategy, and build strong market understanding in the FMCG segment.

\n

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Drive national & zonal sales targets (distribution, profitability, merchandising, receivables, new product targets)
  • \n
  • Develop and scale General Trade channels & market expansion strategies
  • \n
  • Lead business performance analysis & reporting across regions and channels
  • \n
  • Manage pricing strategy & trade margins
  • \n
  • Define and execute OGSM & customer plans in collaboration with marketing
  • \n
  • Lead new product launches & sales promotions
  • \n
  • Build sales capability, training & leadership pipeline
  • \n
  • Monitor market trends & competitive landscape
  • \n
Team & Reporting \n
    \n
  • Reporting to: Sales Director
  • \n
  • Functional Reporting: CEO
  • \n
  • Team Size: 6–8 direct reports
  • \n
Candidate Requirements (MUST) \n
    \n
  • MBA preferred
  • \n
  • 12+ years sales experience with strong FMCG exposure
  • \n
  • Minimum 7+ years in zonal/national leadership roles
  • \n
  • Experience in General Trade (GT) ; Modern Trade is a plus
  • \n
  • Managed 100+ Cr business
  • \n
  • Proven consistent target achievement (last 3 years)
  • \n
  • Experience across multiple zones (North & South preferred)
  • \n
  • Strong exposure to SFA / DMS tools
  • \n
  • Must be Mumbai-based, age < 50
  • \n
