Job Description
Position: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – Chemistry
\nDepartment: Academics – Secondary Section (Classes VI & X)
\nReporting To
\nPrincipal / Vice Principal / Academic Coordinator / Head of Department (Science)
\nRole Purpose
\nThe TGT Chemistry Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality Chemistry education to students of Classes VI and X in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher fosters scientific inquiry, conceptual understanding, practical skills, and critical thinking while ensuring academic excellence and holistic student development.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nAcademic Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Teach Chemistry and General Science to Classes VI & X as per CBSE guidelines. \n
- Prepare annual curriculum plans, lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching-learning materials. \n
- Deliver engaging, activity-based, and student-centric lessons. \n
- Integrate experiential learning, inquiry-based teaching, and real-life applications of Chemistry. \n
- Conduct practical laboratory sessions while ensuring adherence to laboratory safety norms. \n
- Encourage scientific temperament through demonstrations, experiments, projects, and STEM activities. \n
Assessment & Evaluation
\n- \n
- Design and conduct unit tests, periodic assessments, practical examinations, assignments, and projects. \n
- Evaluate answer scripts and maintain accurate academic records. \n
- Analyze student performance and implement remedial and enrichment programmes. \n
- Prepare students for CBSE examinations through revision plans, practice papers, and competency-based learning. \n
Classroom Management

- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment. \n
- Promote active participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. \n
- Ensure student safety during classroom and laboratory activities. \n
Student Development
\n- \n
- Mentor students academically and personally. \n
- Identify and support diverse learning needs. \n
- Motivate students to participate in Science Olympiads, exhibitions, quizzes, and innovation projects. \n
- Develop scientific curiosity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. \n
Parent Communication
\n- \n
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs). \n
- Share regular feedback regarding student progress, attendance, behaviour, and academic performance. \n
- Work collaboratively with parents to support student growth. \n
School Responsibilities

- Participate in school assemblies, events, competitions, educational excursions, and celebrations. \n
- Undertake examination duties, invigilation, evaluation, and result preparation. \n
- Assist in curriculum planning and interdisciplinary projects. \n
- Participate in professional development programmes, workshops, and CBSE training sessions. \n
- Perform additional academic and administrative duties assigned by the school leadership. \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) with Chemistry as a major subject. \n
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution. \n
- CTET/State TET qualification (preferred where applicable). \n
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school is desirable. \n
