\nPosition: Head of Engineering
\nLocation: Chandigarh, India
\nEngagement: Permanent – Full time
\nThe Head of Engineering is responsible for leading and developing Talink's engineering capability across multiple technologies, teams, and projects. This role sets the direction for engineering excellence, oversees technical delivery quality, and fosters a high- performance culture within the development teams. The Head of Engineering collaborates closely with delivery, product, platform, and QA leaders to ensure Talink's software engineering function consistently meets client expectations for reliability, scalability, and innovation.
\nThis role includes line management of Technical Leads and oversight of engineering workforce planning, career development, recruitment, tooling decisions, and deliver performance. The Head of Engineering will act as the most senior technical escalation point and will play a key role in shaping Talink's future engineering strategy.

\nKey Responsibilities:
\nEngineering Leadership and Strategy:
\n• Define and maintain Talink's engineering vision, standards, and development frameworks across platforms and technology stacks, right-sizing for different client sizes and industries.
\n• Lead the evolution of engineering practices, tools, and playbooks to support scalable, secure, and maintainable solution delivery.
\n• Drive alignment between engineering, architecture, QA, and DevOps functions to ensure seamless, cross-disciplinary collaboration.
\nPeople Leadership and Capability Development:
\n• Manage, mentor, and support Technical Leads and senior engineers, ensuring alignment to Talink's values and delivery standards.
\n• Lead performance management, succession planning, and skills development across the engineering practice.
\n• Build a strong culture of feedback, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
\nDelivery Oversight and Technical Governance:
\n• Ensure the consistent technical quality of engineering outputs across projects.
• Provide architectural review and solution oversight for key engagements.
\n• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical or delivery challenges.
\nCollaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership:
\n• Work closely with Delivery Leads, Product Managers, UX Designers, Platform Engineers, and QA Leaders to ensure smooth execution of projects.
\n• Participate in planning forums and governance structures to represent engineering perspectives in commercial and strategic decision-making.
\n• Support bid responses, client solution design, and technical discovery activities as needed.
\nRecruitment and Workforce Planning:
\n• Oversee engineering workforce planning, resourcing, and utilisation in collaboration with delivery leadership.
\n• Lead recruitment and onboarding of engineering talent across levels and disciplines.
\n• Ensure effective team structures and the right mix of capabilities to meet current and future delivery needs.
\nPractice Development and Innovation:
\n• Identify and introduce new engineering tools, patterns, or practices that drive delivery excellence.
\n• Promote engineering thought leadership through internal forums, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
\n• Monitor emerging trends and technologies and assess their relevance to Talink's technical roadmap.
\nQualifications and Experience
\nTechnical Skills:
\n• Deep understanding of software development practices, secure architecture, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-native delivery.
\n• Experience designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable software systems.
\n• Strong grasp of Agile, Lean, and modern software engineering methodologies.
\nExperience:
\n• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years in leadership roles.
\n• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
\n• Experience in consultancy or multi-client delivery environments preferred.
\nSoft Skills:
\n• Inspirational leader with strong coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
\n• Pragmatic and strategic thinker able to balance technical vision with delivery realities.
\n• Comfortable influencing across teams, geographies, and stakeholders.
