Rekise Marine-Procurement Executive
Job Description
Job Title: Procurement Executive
\nLocation: Bangalore | Full-Time | Experience: 2-5 Years
\nAbout Rekise Marine
\nRekise Marine is building autonomous ships and submarines that operate in the world's most hostile
\nenvironments. We're executing India's flagship autonomous submarine project the Jalkapi XLAUV on order
\nfrom the Indian Navy. This is an unmanned submarine weighing over 20 tons that can travel 5,000+ kilometers
\nautonomously and operate in the ocean for 30+ days at a time.
\nWe're creating some of the largest autonomous robots in the world, machines with direct impact on the global
\neconomy and national security. While autonomous cars in India may still be a dream, autonomous ships and
\nsubmarines are already a reality, and it is possible to build for the world from India.
\nThe Role
\nWe're seeking a Procurement Executive to manage end-to-end procurement of precision CNC & VMC
\nmachined components, fabricated structures (welded steel jigs & fixtures etc.), and specialized job works for
\nour defense and marine projects. This role requires managing the procurement of mission-critical components
\nthat meet stringent defense specifications, from pressure-rated submarine parts to high-tolerance marine
\nassemblies.
\nTimely delivery is the #1 priority of this role. You'll drive this by keeping in constant touch with our
\noutsourced partners — approved MSMEs, labs, etc. — while ensuring complete material traceability,
\ncoordinating quality inspections, and maintaining strict confidentiality across technical procurement for India's
\nmost advanced underwater defense systems. This role demands sufficient technical know-how in machining
\nprocesses and defense standards to effectively coordinate with specialists and ensure zero-defect, on-time
\ndelivery for naval applications.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nDelivery Tracking & Vendor Coordination:
\n%CF; Own delivery timelines — maintain daily/weekly touch with vendors to track progress against
\ncommitted schedules.
\n%CF; Proactively identify delays at machining, fabrication, surface treatment, or inspection stages and
\nescalate with corrective action before deadlines slip.
\n%CF; Maintain a live delivery tracker across all open POs and flag risks to project leads in advance.
\n%CF; Coordinate logistics, packaging, and dispatch to ensure damage-free, on-time receipt.
\nDefense & Marine Procurement:
\n%CF; Source precision CNC & VMC machined components, fabricated parts, and specialized job works as
\nper approved drawings, STEP files, and scope documents.
\n%CF; Manage procurement for prototype, pilot, and series production requirements.
\nVendor Development & Compliance:
\n%CF; Identify, evaluate, and develop vendors capable of meeting defense-grade machining and fabrication
\nstandards.
\n%CF; Conduct vendor capability audits covering CNC/VMC machine capacity, fabrication qualifications (WPS,
\nPQR), inspection facilities (CMM, UT), quality systems and NDA Compliance.
\nQuality Assurance & Traceability:
\n%CF; Ensure end-to-end material traceability including Mill Test Certificates (MTC), heat numbers, batch
\ntraceability, and approved raw material sources.
\n%CF; Review mandatory quality documents: Tensile/Hardness/Chemical test reports, NDT reports (UT, MPI,
\nDPT), Surface roughness, and CMM inspection reports.
\nTechnical Coordination:
\n%CF; Read and interpret drawings, tolerances, welding symbols, coatings, and surface finish requirements.
\n%CF; Coordinate with Design, Mechanical, QA/QC, Project, and Production teams for technical clarifications
\nand manufacturability feedback, and change control across supply chain.
\n%CF; Support sample approval, pilot builds prior to bulk manufacturing.
\nCommercial & Contract Management:
\n%CF; Negotiate pricing, lead time, payment terms, warranties, and delivery commitments.
\n%CF; Ensure detailed cost breakups for CNC/VMC machining, fabrication, and special processes.
\n%CF; Ensure POs include inspection rights, documentation clauses, penalties, LD clauses, and warranty
\nterms.
\nRequired Qualifications
\n%CF; B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical with relevant experience.
\n%CF; 2-5 years of experience in technical procurement, preferably in defense, aerospace, or precision
\nmanufacturing sectors.
\n%CF; Strong understanding of CNC Turning & VMC Milling processes.
\n%CF; Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and surface finish
\nspecifications.
\n%CF; Knowledge of coatings and surface treatments: Anodizing, passivation, protective coatings.
\n%CF; Understanding of quality documentation: MTC, test certificates, NDT reports, inspection
\nprotocols.
\n%CF; Experience with Excel for procurement tracking and analysis.
\n%CF; Strong negotiation skills with ability to maintain quality while optimizing costs.
\nPreferred Experience
\n%CF; Awareness of quality systems and defense QA documentation practices.
\n%CF; Familiarity with naval and defense procurement procedures and audit requirements.
\n%CF; Knowledge of NDT standards (UT, MPI, DPT) and inspection protocols.
