Assistant Engineer – Mechanical (Wind Projects)

Location: Gadag, Karnataka
Business: Renewables SBU – Wind Projects
Department: Project Execution

Job Purpose

To support the execution of mechanical activities for Wind Power Projects by assisting in the installation, erection, inspection, and commissioning of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), while ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and EHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the mechanical erection and installation of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), including tower sections, nacelle, hub, rotor blades, and associated equipment.

• Supervise day-to-day mechanical activities at the project site and monitor work executed by contractors and subcontractors.
\n
• Ensure all mechanical works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.
\n
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Quality, EHS, and Project teams to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
\n
• Assist in crane planning, heavy lifting operations, equipment alignment, torqueing, bolting, and mechanical inspections.
\n
• Monitor daily work progress and prepare site progress reports, inspection records, and execution documentation.
\n
• Verify availability of materials, tools, equipment, and manpower required for mechanical activities.
\n
• Support commissioning activities and ensure timely closure of mechanical punch points.
\n
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, statutory regulations, and project quality standards.
\n
• Identify execution issues and escalate technical concerns to senior engineers for timely resolution.

Educational Qualification

\n
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
\n
\n

Experience

\n
\n
• 1–4 years of experience in Mechanical Execution of Wind, Renewable Energy, EPC, Power, or Infrastructure Projects .
\n
• Freshers with relevant internship or project exposure in wind or renewable energy may also be considered.
