Roles and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior API Automation Engineer with 5+ years of

experience in software quality assurance and automation testing. The ideal candidate

should have extensive hands-on experience in API automation using Karate

Framework, JavaScript, and BDD (Gherkin).

The individual will be responsible for designing scalable automation frameworks,

automating REST APIs, integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating

with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure product quality.

%CF; Design, develop, and maintain API automation test suites using Karate

Framework.

%CF; Develop reusable automation components and utilities using JavaScript.

%CF; Write clear and maintainable BDD feature files using Gherkin syntax.

%CF; Automate RESTful APIs and validate request/response payloads, headers,

authentication, and business rules.

%CF; Perform API contract validation, schema validation, and data-driven testing.

%CF; Integrate automation suites with Jenkins, Gitlab,Jenkins Actions, Azure DevOps,

or similar CI/CD tools.

%CF; Execute regression, smoke, and integration test suites.

%CF; Analyze API specifications (Swagger/OpenAPI) and derive comprehensive

automation scenarios.

%CF; Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, and QA teams during sprint

planning and execution.

%CF; Participate in code reviews and ensure automation coding standards are followed.

%CF; Debug failures, identify root causes, and provide quality recommendations.

%CF; Contribute to framework enhancements, reporting, logging, and reusable utilities.

%CF; Track and report automation execution metrics using Allure Reports or equivalent

reporting tools.

%CF; Support shift-left testing practices by participating early in the SDLC.

Qualifications and Skills

%CF; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,

Engineering, or a related field.

%CF; Relevant certifications in Automation Testing or API Testing are a plus.

%CF; 5+ years of experience in Software Testing and Automation.

%CF; Strong hands-on experience with Karate Framework.

%CF; Excellent knowledge of REST API Automation.

%CF; Strong proficiency in JavaScript.

%CF; Experience writing BDD test scenarios using Gherkin.

%CF; Experience working with JSON and XML payloads.

%CF; Strong understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, cookies, and

authentication mechanisms.

%CF; Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and Basic Authentication.

%CF; Experience using Git for source code management.

%CF; Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or

GitLab CI.

%CF; Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

%CF; Experience with Maven or Gradle build tools.

%CF; Excellent debugging and analytical skills.

%CF; Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

%CF; Experience with SQL and database validation.

%CF; Knowledge of Docker and containerized test execution.

%CF; Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.

%CF; Familiarity with Microservices Architecture.

%CF; Experience using Postman for API exploration.

%CF; Knowledge of contract testing and schema validation.

%CF; Experience with Allure Reporting or Extent Reports.

%CF; Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter is an advantage.

%CF; Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
