Key Responsibilities

\n

\n

\n

1) Planning & Coordination

\n

\n
  • Interpret issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings , formwork shop drawings, and pour plans; develop method statements and work packs for each block/lift.
  • \n
  • Prepare daily/weekly look-ahead plans (materials, workforce, equipment) synced to concrete pour schedules and rebar readiness.
  • \n
  • Define formwork systems (traditional timber, modular steel/aluminum, climbing/slide forms, custom curved forms) based on structural geometry (spillway/chute, dam blocks, galleries, draft tubes, piers).
  • \n
  • Coordinate interfaces with rebar, embeds/inserts, water-stops, construction joints, cooling pipes, instrumentation and embedded metals.
  • \n
  • Plan lift heights, staging/scaffolding, access , and erection/dismantling sequences to optimize cycle time and safety.
  • \n

    \n

    2) Technical Execution

    \n

    \n
  • Lead erection, alignment, plumb, level, and curvature control per drawings; ensure camber/offsets where specified.
  • \n
  • Calculate and verify formwork pressures (rate of pour, concrete temperature, slump) and select adequate ties, walers, studs, bracing .
  • \n
  • Ensure form-release agents , surface preparation, joint sealing , and form tightness to prevent honeycombing and leakage.
  • \n
  • Implement thermal control measures (cooling pipes coordination, insulation, pour temperature limits) to maintain joint integrity and reduce thermal cracking.
  • \n
  • Oversee pre-pour inspections with QA/QC; close NCRs/snag lists; maintain as-built adjustments logs.
  • \n

    \n

    3) Safety, HSE & Compliance

    \n

    \n
  • Enforce HSE method statements , Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) , and Permit-to-Work for all formwork activities—especially at height, near water, night pours, and heavy lifts.
  • \n
  • Ensure scaffolding/working platforms are certified; maintain fall protection and restricted access during pour.
  • \n
  • Conduct toolbox talks , PPE checks, and lifting plan briefings; coordinate with lifting supervisor for panel handling and crane operations.
  • \n

    \n

    4) Quality Assurance & Control

    \n

    \n
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy: line, level, plumb, elevation , curvature/geometry for spillway/chute profiles; form alignment tolerance per project specifications.
  • \n
  • Verify construction joint preparation , keys , and waterstops placement; ensure embedment tolerances for anchors/inserts.
  • \n
  • Document pre-pour / post-pour checklists , inspection requests (IRs) , and maintain redline/as-built records.
  • \n

    \n

    5) Resource & Cost Management

    \n

    \n
  • Track material inventories (plywood/ply board, steel/aluminum panels, H‑frames, props, ties, clamps, walers, consumables).
  • \n
  • Control formwork damage rates , repair cycles, and reuse factor ; reduce wastage and optimize procurement.
  • \n
  • Manage workforce productivity and equipment utilization (cranes, vibrators, power tools).
  • \n
  • Support cost control with accurate Material Take-Off (MTO) and consumption reporting.
  • \n

    \n

    6) Documentation & Reporting

    \n

    \n
  • Issue daily progress reports (erection/dismantling, inspections, pour readiness) and weekly performance dashboards .
  • \n
  • Maintain RFI/Clarification logs with design/engineering; track NCRs and Corrective Actions .
  • \n
  • Keep equipment/inspection/maintenance records for formwork systems and accessories.
