Role: Data Centre Admin

Roles and Responsibilities:

Server Administration & Deployment

• Proficient in setting up and configuring physical and virtual servers across Windows and non-Windows environments.
\n
• Experienced in OS upgrades, patching, network configuration, and server performance optimization.
\n

Backup & Restore Management

\n
• Hands-on expertise with enterprise backup tools including Veeam, Backup Exec, and NetBackup.
\n
• Skilled in designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting backup strategies, agent configurations, and media management.
\n

Monitoring & Maintenance

\n
• Perform daily server health checks, antivirus status reviews, and backup validation.
\n
• Conduct regular maintenance including restarts, firmware/driver updates, and proactive issue resolution.
\n

Hardware Lifecycle Management

\n
• Manage server hardware assessments, upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning.
\n
• Collaborate with vendors for hardware procurement, deployment, and escalation support.
\n

Vulnerability Remediation (VAPT)

\n
• Work closely with security teams to address VAPT findings and ensure timely remediation and compliance.
\n

Disaster Recovery & Documentation

\n
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans; execute test restores and manage ISMS recovery cycles.
\n
• Ensure accurate and updated documentation of recovery processes and procedures.
\n

Additional Competencies

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Familiar with cloud and hybrid data center environments and associated deployment/management practices.
\n

Virtualization & Veeam

\n
• Strong understanding of virtualized environments and advanced Veeam functionalities for backup and recovery.
\n

Storage Administration

\n
• Knowledge of storage capacity planning, usage monitoring, and permission management at the folder level.
\n

Scripting & Automation

\n
• Capable of automating administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools.
\n

Cross-Functional Coordination

\n
• Effective communicator with experience in collaborating with project teams, stakeholders, and support functions.
\n
• Strong documentation skills to support change management and operational transparency.
