Job Description
Legal Counsel
\nResponsibilities / Accountabilities:
\n- \n
- Provide legal counsel and guidance on various business activities, contracts, and agreements. \n
- Provide transactional support to Lubrizol’s businesses and functions in the India, Middle East and Africa region. \n
- Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. \n
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including contracts, NDAs consulting agreements, strategic cooperation and joint venture agreements, real property agreements, sales and other offtake agreements, equipment supply agreements, EPC agreements, etc. \n
- Manage day-to-day legal request from the business and functional teams. \n
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, including negotiations, mediations, and litigations. \n
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the business and advise stakeholders accordingly. \n
- Support strategic projects of Lubrizol’s group companies in India, the Middle East (including Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and the UAE) and South Africa. \n
The Ideal Candidate should have

- Legal Qualifications: An LL.B. degree and a strong foundation in corporate and commercial law. \n
- Depth of Experience: ~ 10 years of substantive legal experience, ideally spanning both leading law firms and in-house legal roles. \n
- Executive Communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical business advice. \n
- Commercial Acumen: A proven ability to operate as a trusted business partner, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives and working with a high degree of independence. \n
- Negotiation Capability: Demonstrated experience leading negotiations on sophisticated, high-value agreements with global counterparties. \n
- Compliance Leadership: The ability to partner effectively with senior leadership to strengthen a culture of compliance and proactively identify and address legal and compliance risks. \n
