Automation Engineer (Contract)

We are looking for an IIoT engineer who has experience in PLC and SCADA systems and considerable knowledge in industrial communication protocols.

Role & Responsibilities:

Position: Automation Engineer

Location: Chennai

Experience: 4+ years in PLC & SCADA (Siemens PLC & Ignition SCADA preferred)

Qualifications: Bachelors in Instrumentation/Mechatronics

Role Summary: Role focuses on integrating PLC, MES and other devices with Ignition SCADA or any L2 level system (ISA 95)

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Ignition solutions for tag handling

Implement python scripting in Ignition or other IDEs

Work with UDTs

Establish communication with a variety of devices using industrial protocols like OPC-UA, MQTT, RestAPI, PLC drivers, ..

Support FAT, SAT, GoLive and Hyper-care

Prepare documentations for the above

Provide technical consultation to Clients

Technical Skills & Experience:

Hands on experience with Ignition SCADA

Python Scripting with Ignition

SQL databases and querying

OPC-UA, MQTT, RestAPI,

Hands on PLC experience (Siemens preferred)

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to details and data accuracy

Logical problem solving and debugging skills

Ability to work independently and within team

Clear communication with engineers and end users
