OnMove-Python Backend Developer

About Role

We are looking for Principal Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Django and scalable system architecture to lead the evolution of our core logistics platform. You will play a key role in driving architecture, mentoring engineers, and delivering robust backend services that power our daily operations across the country.

Responsibilities
\n • Design and architect scalable, secure, and reliable backend systems using Django
\n and PostgreSQL
\n • Drive key technical decisions and ensure best practices in code structure, testing,
\n and performance optimization.
\n • Own and evolve our backend service ecosystem including APIs, integrations, and
\n internal tools.
\n • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, data) to ship impactful
\n features.
\n • Guide and mentor backend developers — conducting code reviews, knowledge-
\n sharing sessions, and architectural discussions.
\n • Lead initiatives to improve system observability, documentation, and operational
\n excellence.
\n • Evaluate and integrate third-party services and tools where appropriate (e.g., GPS,
\n OCR, analytics).
\n • Help shape technical roadmaps and contribute to product strategy from a tech perspective.

Requirements
\n • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 3 years in Django.
\n • Strong command over Python, Django ORM, RESTful API design, and PostgreSQL
\n • Experience with system design, caching strategies, async task queues (e.g., Celery), and optimizing DB performance.Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry).
\n • Excellent problem-solving skills and a product-focused mindset.
\n • Previous experience in logistics or supply chain tech is a big plus.
\n • Strong communication skills and experience mentoring engineers or leading teams.
\n • Exposure to AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS) and Docker-based deployments.
