\nWe are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President – IT Operations to lead and manage our global IT operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes data centres, networks, servers, storage, cloud platforms, and end-user computing.
\nCandidate needs to have strong expertise in IT infrastructure management (both cloud and on-premise), IT security, and operations for IT/ITES & BPO specific industries.
\nThis role will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, security compliance, and the scalability of our technological environment, while leading a high-performing team of professionals.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n•Strategic Leadership:
\n•Develop and execute infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals.
\n•Lead modernization initiatives including cloud migration, automation, and digital transformation.
\n•Operations Management:
\n•Oversee day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure including incident, problem, and change management.
\n•Serve as the escalation point for complex IT operational issues and incidents
\n•Ensure uptime, performance, and reliability of systems and services.
\n•Oversee disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives
\n•Oversee development, staging, and production environments ensuring minimal downtime and high availability for client-facing platforms.
\n•Oversee cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on-premise infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
\n•Ensure timely and effective IT operations in line with ITIL best practices.
\n•Team Leadership:
\n•Manage and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers and support staff.
\n•Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
\n•Security & Compliance:
\n•Ensure infrastructure complies with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
\n•Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement robust defence mechanisms.
\n•Design & implement proactive measures to prevent security breaches.
\n•Vendor & Budget Management:
\n•Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors and service providers.
\n•Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost optimization initiatives.
\n•Monitoring & Reporting:
\n•Implement monitoring tools and dashboards for proactive issue detection.
\n•Provide regular reports on infrastructure health, performance, and KPIs to senior leadership.
\nQualifications & Desired Skills
\n•Experience: 18yrs to 25 yrs
\n•Relevant experience – 10yrs+ as a IT Operations Leader in a Software/BPO company
\n•Education: B.E/BTech
\n•Strong understanding of data governance and IP protection for KPO operations.
\n•Strong experience with Cloud & on premise server Infrastructure.
\n•Competencies -Technical / Functional:
\n1.Infrastructure Architecture & Design
\noExpertise in designing scalable, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure.
\noStrong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks.
\n2.Cloud Technologies
\noHands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
\noKnowledge of cloud migration strategies, hybrid cloud setups, and cost optimization.
\n3.Network & Security
\noProficiency in LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring tools.
\noFamiliarity with network security protocols, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and zero-trust architecture.
\n4.Data Center & Server Management
\noExperience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), server provisioning, and storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
\noKnowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
\n5.Monitoring & Automation
\noProficiency in infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios)
\noExperience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python scripting)
\n6.IT Service Management (ITSM)
\noStrong understanding of ITIL processes including incident, problem, change, and asset management.
\noExperience with ITSM platforms
\n7.End-User Computing
\noOversight of desktop support, endpoint management, and VDI solutions.
\noFamiliarity with MDM tools and remote support technologies.
\n8.Compliance & Governance
\noKnowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
\noAbility to implement and audit infrastructure controls and policies.
\n9.Capacity Planning & Performance Tuning
\noSkills in forecasting infrastructure needs and optimizing system performance.
\n10.Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
\noExperience in designing and testing DR/BCP plans across critical systems.
