Role Overview :

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Core Integrations team. At Staff role, you are not just a strong individual contributor you are a technical multiplier. You set the direction for how integrations are built across the team, champion AI-native engineering practices org-wide, and ensure the platform scales with the business.

Core Technical Requirements :

  • Java (Expert): 9+ years of production Java. You don't just write Java you define how it should be written on the team. Deep expertise in JVM tuning, concurrency primitives, GC behavior, and framework internals (Spring Boot, reactive stacks). Can diagnose and resolve problem AI Adoption Across the SDLC Staff-Level Expectations don't just use AI - they define how the team uses it:
  • Practitioner : Uses AI assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) daily across the full SDLC - design, implementation, testing, code review, incident response, documentation.
  • Multiplier : Establishes team-wide AI workflows and prompt libraries. Runs internal sessions on effective AI-augmented engineering. Makes the team better at using AI, not just themselves.
  • Evaluator : Evaluates new AI tooling critically. Knows when AI output is trustworthy and when it's confidently wrong. Builds review practices that don't let hallucinations slip through.
  • Architect-level usage : Uses AI to accelerate system design - generates architecture options, stress-tests designs, produces tech specs, writes ADRs, and synthesizes cross-team context faster than any human could alone.

Adaptability & Polyglot Engineering :

  • Polyglot leadership: Has owned codebases in multiple languages and is comfortable evaluating new ones for the right use cases. Doesn't force Java where Python (or Go, or Rust) is the better fit.
  • Platform & Infrastructure : Has strong opinions on cloud-native deployment, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD automation. Has designed or significantly shaped a team's deployment platform.
  • Emerging tech: Proactively evaluates and adopts new technologies. Is the person who evaluates whether a new tool is hype or signal - and can articulate why.Engineering Leadership.
  • Technical strategy : Owns multi-quarter technical roadmaps. Identifies systemic problems before they become incidents. Drives architecture decisions that span multiple teams or services.
  • Cross-team influence : Trusted technical voice beyond the Core Integrations team. Pulls in stakeholders, aligns on standards, and drives engineering initiatives at the org level.
  • Mentorship & growth: Actively develops SE II/III and SSE engineers - not just answering questions but building their judgment. Known for making the people around them better.
  • Reliability & production ownership: Has designed for production from day one. Defines SLOs, drives post-mortems, and turns incidents into systemic improvements not just hotfixes.
  • Communication : Writes clearly and persuasively. Can walk an executive through a complex integration failure or a new engineer through a distributed system design and both leave with the right mental model.

Nice to Have :

  • Experience building partner/marketplace API platforms at scale.
  • Deep familiarity with CRM/MarTech ecosystems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Outreach) or B2B data infrastructure.
  • Prior experience designing or operating a developer-facing integration platform (webhooks, OAuth flows, partner SDKs).
  • Has driven an org-wide engineering initiative - platform migration, AI tooling rollout, observability overhaul, etc.
  • Open source maintainer or significant contributor.
