Detailed JD *(Roles and Responsibilities)

The main objective of this role is to upgrade the libraries and frameworks of invoice generation system and migrate the OS to REDHAT. This will improve the maintainability, security vulnerabilities, and performance of the application. The main tasks are as follows:

• Ruby on Rails, the core application framework, will be upgraded.
• The Ruby language engine will be upgraded.
• Various libraries will be updated to appropriate version.
• The current OS will be migrated to recommended RHEL version.
• Oracle Database will be upgraded to recommended version.

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering

• 7+ years of experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails development

Expertise and experience in the following areas

• Experience developing applications using Docker containers

• Knowledge of REDHAT/Ubuntu Linux and network technology knowledge

• Experience developing applications using Oracle Database

• Source code repository management and experience using Git/GitHub

• Ticket-driven development management and experience

• Extensive knowledge and experience of Ruby Gem libraries

• Experience with end-to-end testing and unit testing in Ruby on Rails

• Experience with agile based application development

• Setting sprints and evaluating results

• Excellent problem-solving skills (log analysis/fixing)

Communication and Competencies

• Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Building good relationships with development team members and consultants

• Negotiating with users to fulfill requests and resolve incidents

• Ability to take a logical and systematic approach to problem finding
